Pros Nice phone
Cons If it didn't freeze on me
Summary Having technical difficulties with this model of phone. My first phone would freeze periodically and require a battery removal to reset. Calls were missed, etc. Upgraded software, problem continued. At 30 days, the phone was exchanged for a new refurb phone. Same problem has appeared with second phone.
Bad batch? Don't know. Will be trying a new refurbed phone this week. Fingers crossed.
Nice phone if it worked.
Pros Sounds good, nice display, easy to use
Cons No indicator when the phone is on or when charging is complete
Summary I've searched the User Guide up and down and cannot find any way to know 1) when my phone is on (i.e., no blinking indicator light) and 2) when it's finished charging! I can't believe LG omitted these standard features from an otherwise well-equipped phone!
Pros Good basic bluetooth phone, reception/connection good
Cons Freezes up, don't know it's not working, missed calls
Summary I have just exchanged my VX5300 for my 5th phone. This freezing up/shutting down issue is the only problem with this phone. I have had LG phones for my last 3 phones (6 years). Startec before that. Never had any problems. My daughter has the same 5300 model and she has not experienced this (although her talktime is very limited). Verizone is very nice about exchanging for another phone after they do the standard troubleshooting, but it is getting frustrating to be going in every 2 weeks for aphone and have to lose my picts, speeddials and bluetooth. I eventually hope to get one that does not have this issue. But my work is getting rather mad at me for "not answering my cell"... problem is that it just freezes. Looks like it is working, lights and all... then try to use it and nothing, then shuts itself off... have to take tha battery out and reinstall.
"Basic LG phone"on by vviley
Pros Compact, light, decent reception and good graphical interface
Cons LG buggy software, external antenna
Summary This would be a great phone if LG could fix all their software bugs. The sound is good, the battery life is great, and even the camera is pretty useable. Unfortunately, LG's software issues would prevent me from recommending it to anyone else.
The biggest complain I've had with all LG phones since they came out is their tendency to freeze. I will have to manually reboot the phone about once a week to fix the problem. This lack of reliability prevents me from using it as an alarm or when I have an important call that I'm expecting at a certain time. Unfortunately, the only way to fix it is to take the battery out. Also, not as much of an issue, is that when the web browser closes, it forces you to stare at the web use timer for 5+ seconds before you can use the rest of the phone. Not a very useful feature if you've just looked up a phone number and are trying to remember it while your phone flashes "WEB TIME 04:50"
Pros Good size, bright screen
Cons blurry full size pix, software issues
Summary Got this phone 6 weeks ago - wanted simple, easy phone like prev. LG4500. Found out 2 weeks ago that the software on the phone does not allow for anything but polyphonic ringtones, and cannot access VZW tones and other GetItNow apps. (Too late to return or exchange phone.) Would have been nice if they had that info on the website or in the store.
