Pros Bright display & roomy keyboard.
Cons Loses bluetooth connection and no extended battery available
Pros Finally a display that doesn't give eye fatigue and a distinct keyboard that you can see day or night. It has good battery life and an antennae with a great range. It has a micro SD slot, usb conn, and fm radio. It has a good feel too.
Cons I am tough on phones and haven't had this one long enough to know if it will break the first time I lean against something with it in my belt clip.
Summary I've been using a Motorola V3c for years since it has a magnificent antenna and I'm in a fringe area where coverage is spotty at best. This one rivals the V3C coverage and battery life. But bravo for LG for making a phone that I can easily see. If you're about what all a phone can do, you might not want this one. But then I don't need one that tells me where the nearest McDonalds is and can wait to get home to use the internet.
Pros Good displays, clear sound
Cons MP3 Player will not let you play the songs in an album or playlist in order
Summary I bought this phone because I wanted a flip style phone with an MP3 player. Plus, it has an FM radio, and the displays have good resolution navigation maps and showing photos. The camera quality is also pretty good. Overall, I was pretty happy.
Then... I plugged in a microSD card and copied some albums over a USB cable. When I selected Music and Albums, all the songs were mixed up. I selected "Shuffle" and they're mixed up in a different order! (Where is the unshuffle button?) They are not alphabetical either. So I tried to make a playlist. It only lets you add songs to the playlist in the order of "All songs", which is alphabetized by the Title field in the mp3 file's meta data. So I saved the playlist, edited it on my PC to put the songs in the correct order, then saved it back to the phone. That doesn't work either! Regardless of the order of the songs in the playlist, it plays them in alphabetical order by Title (not by filename). Are you kidding me? Do LG DVD players play the chapters of a movie in some random order? Then why is it OK to play the songs on an album in the wrong order?
I called up customer service, and they seemed totally unconcerned. They said I was the first to complain about it. (Yeah, right!)
So, the only thing I figured out to do is to edit the Title field using Windows Explorer. Click on Properties for each individual song, then Details, then edit the Title field and type in "Beatles-Let It Be-02-Dig A Pony". (Dig A Pony is the 2nd song). This only takes about 10 minutes per album. It still won't play "Albums" in the correct order, but now when I make a playlist they will play in the correct order. Or, I can play "All Songs" and they will play in the order of artist, album, track. But, I still can't make a playlist of songs in the order I want them!
Come on, LG don't be so lazy writing your software. I expect an update to fix this problem. Then I will right a glowing review with 5 stars for this phone! (Hint: Use a "stable sort" in your database search algorithms. Look it up in wikipedia.)
