I got this three days ago. I always carry two mobiles and a PDA, now I only have to carry one. It's all in one. On line, calander, contact. My PDA was only be used to take notes and manage calander, my two mobile was to reduce my monthly expance. Now it's all in one.

But it's too complicated to use. And the user manue is so simple that I could not fine out all the information I want.

Anyway, it's still my best mobile I every have.

I kept the A1000 for about a month and I got sick of the frustrations associated with simple every day stuff. The operating system is terrible. It is not user friendly what so ever. Crashed/Locked up consistantly!!!! This is my 4th PDA so please don't think I'm a newbie. Worst experience ever! Got rid of it on ebay. Do not buy this model!!

Pros

Very well built, pretty.

I’m very very disappointed with this phone, so much in fact that I can’t believe reviewers actually used this phone before saying wonders about it:

- No productivity suite included (can’t edit a Word or Excel file), which is something I didn’t even know could happen on a PDA (we can only SEE them!).
- No photo extraction wizard (with the option to erase pictures from device), I have to go through an explorer-like program, and see a bunch of folders to access the pictures, and then paste them to my desktop.
- Synchronization of contacts from Outlook doesn’t include contacts placed in folders and subfolders.
- Error while synchronizing mail.
- Only the dialing screen can be personalized, and a few icons for the main screen. My A1000 is the same as everyone else’s.
- Poor sound quality (weird bass, could be from the lousy earphone supplied).
- No possibility of having vibrator and ring tone at the same time (why the hell not???).
- The much talked aGPS feature doesn’t come with bundled software, so it doesn’t work out of the box.
- Not a single software update or bonus software available to download from the site. Not even the bundled CD is available for download, so if the CD gets lost/scratched, it’s bye bye phone.

The good:
- After loosing many hours on the Internet, I found a few free programs, including an emulator for an HP calculator (Emu48E), a chess game (Echess), and icon personalization (AppPicker).

Conclusion:
A well designed phone, with the potential to be excellent.
The bad software that comes standard makes it both the most disappointing and most expensive phone I ever had.
It is my first and last Motorola, and possibly Symbian too.
At more than 500€, a phone just CANNOT come with such little functions (I can compare it directly with an old Alcatel I have).
