  • "Defective Defy"
    on by cklanac

Pros From what I hear, if it works it's a nice phone... but mine doesn't work.

    Cons Multiple defects:
    Cracked screens
    Earpiece Malfunction
    On/Off switch malfunction
    Headhone jack malfunction
    FM radio static when charging

Summary There are a few design defects with the product (EG cracked screens and earpiece malfunction), Motorola is aware of the problem and trying to fix the manufacturing process... but good luck getting them to fix the phone you already purchased.

Here's a list of forum posting that talk about the issues

  • "Gorilla Glass is not all it is touted to be!"
    on by momofteenager

Pros Nice size, easy to use.

Cons Gorilla glass does not hold up to everyday usage. Do not believe the marketing.

Summary Bought this phone after much thought and research into its durability into the gorilla glass. Gave it to my 17 year old two weeks ago. She was getting it out of her purse this morning and dropped it, approx. 2 1/2 feet. The glass shattered. Gorilla glass - HAH!!! Don't buy this phone thinking it will hold up to everyday use.

  • "Great Phone"
    on by yoshikotorigoshi

    Pros Fast Connection
    Very little lag time
    Looks Great
    Decent Memory
    Durable
    Great Call Quality

Cons Battery lasts about 8 hours with very little use
Not advisable for first time smart phone users (learning curve)
Not the best for texting (takes awhile in either view)

Summary This is my first smart phone and although I'm pretty good at figuring out electronics...this did take a bit of getting use to. The phone is sturdy, fast and surfs the internet just as fast as the ipad. Call quality is excellent. My only issue is with texting. With my old craptastic Nokia I could text at blazing speeds. I find that texting on this is a bit more difficult and if you care about spelling can be a bit of a nightmare. For a first smart phone I feel like I hit the jackpot. It might just take me a little while to find out just how much gold is in that pot though. So far...I couldn't be happier. Compared to my brother's iphone....this is cheaper, smaller, faster and does just about everything his can do.

  • "This beats the motorola cliq so hard!"
    on by nikitaost1

Pros great screen, fast processor (beats galaxy s in my opinion), super durable, fun to use, well connected, blur finally works smoothly.

    Cons battery life

Summary Compared to the motoblur phones that came before this, there is absolutely no way to compare. The defy is an incredible phone! The phone works smoothly, is durable, fun to use, and looks good, what else could you ask for? no problems at all since i have gotten. if you are considering on getting a well connected phone, for a good price: get the Defy!

  • "Great phone, large Hi rez display, runs apps well, size"
    on by jjn4fr

Pros I love this phone more each day! The 480x854 display is better than Vibrant or G2 at 480x800. Durable design, perfect size, lightweight. Didnt like being forced to set up Moto-blur! I keep that stuff off, so the phone runs smooth. Nice phone!

Cons No choice about Moto-blur. Had to set up an account before using the phone, had to set up WI-FI after a million attempts, because info would not go through? Had to restart the phone a few times the 1st few days, but now its running smooth, perfect!

Summary Great phone, beautiful display, decent speaker, smaller than Iphone but screen is slightly bigger. Unlike Iphone, you can move files as you wish, no Itunes crap! I easlily moved a few gigs of music, and a couple of movies to the phone. The mp3 player works well and sound quality is good. I ripped a copy of Avatar for the phone and it played back awsome with good sound, like a mini movie theatre. The camera takes good pictures and the video quality is good too, just remember its a phone, not a Canon. The GPS works good- its not a Garmin, but it works. The touch screen is smooth and responsive when surfing and worked well with the games too. Phone call sound quality is very good and the speaker phone works great! I am very happy with this phone so far, I am able to mold it into what I want it to be, and thats a good thing!
