"Very good, when you can see it."
3.5 starson by amadensorPros: Rugged, Android, Screen appearance
Cons: Battery life, memory, daylight viewing
Summary: I have had this phone a couple of months now, so I figure I can write a reasonable review. It works well, and most every application (except flash games on the web) is quite responsive. There are a few minor drawbacks, but overall, it is probably the best phone on the market for me.
First on the good side: It is durable, and even more so since I added a rubber case and a screen protector on top of the ruggedized body and gorilla glass. I know this is probably overkill, but if it is worth doing, it is worth overdoing. The GPS works well, the screen looks very nice, and call quality is very good.
Now for the down side: The battery only lasts about a day and a half. Not bad for an android device, but since it is already rugged, I wish they had made it a little thicker to add some more battery life. It only has 512M of memory (I remember when that was a lot for a desktop) so occasionally, it will lag. A quick boost form android assistant, or a hit from fast reboot will kill everything running and get it back on track, but it would be nice to not need to do that. It is rare, and I am an application freak, so I overtax it, and sometimes it shows. The biggest thing though is screen visibility in daylight. It is a rugged phone with a GPS. Wouldn't they think I might use it outside??? The screen is almost unreadable in bright sunshine, which is sad.
Other than that it is a great phone. Android with all of that fun and utility combined with being almost "me proof."
