Pros All of the Droid 2 pro's, plus add the fastest processor out there right now, and world roaming capabilites,
Cons there is no front facing camera, no HDMI pot,the jeyboard is kinda stiff, and not running stock android so you'll will have to wait longer for updates than say you wuld have to on a G2
Summary This phone is now Verizons flagship, but first i want to look at cons, the first one was no front facing.... but at this stage a front facing camera is more of a novelty as this time than a messecity. Then another con is that the keyboard was kinda stiff, actually once you use the keyboard a little it becomes positively easy to use. Then we get to unsolvable con's, which are no HDMI port, and while it hurts not being able to link my phone to my HDTV i just Tether it to my laptop and connect that the the T.V, so theres a way around the lack of a HDMI port. Then the next problem was that it wasn't running stock android so that you have to wait longer for updates than some other phones, however with the hardware that this phone has it is easily going to be compatible with New Android versions for a long time, and verizon and Motorola have a decent track record for relaeasing updates for their main phones, so that takes care of that con.
TRUE BOTTOM LINE: This phone like i stated before is Verizons newflagship, This phone has the best hardware out their right now, and because of that hardware it will be supported for years to come, and is running the latest android, plus when you add in the insanely fast processor, and the world roaming capabilities, tht just raises this phones value, and i honestly think that this phone is one of the best outt thier, if not the best. And completely deserves the 5 stars i gave it.
Pros It does EVERYTHING I need plus more.
Cons Battery life sucks so make sure you have your USB cord or charger.
Summary This is a really phenomenal phone. Let me just tell you what I have been doing since I got it. I previously had a Blackberry Bold which worked fine but my fiance has a discount on Verizon so I switched and got a free Droid 2 Global with the deals that they have been having.
This weekend I turned it on and it sucked in all of my information from my Google account so I didn't have to update my accounts. I no longer need my iPod because it stores music. I listen to music all day at work on it (Pandora). I was driving and using turn by turn vocal GPS navigation while driving. I can hook the phone up to my car using the input and actually play streaming music into my car. The programmed the alarm from the DROID 2 Global to wake me up. My fiance and I have been playing silly but fun games on it (we each got one with the two for one deal). We check our emails, update our Google Docs online and schedule things using Google Calendar using this beast of a machine. Did I mention it makes calls also?
As you can tell I am very pleased with it. I haven't even gotten to the tons of apps that are available. It also has a physical keyboard which is important to me. I don't like tapping glass. Its just not my thing. My fiance and I are very happy with our phones. A lot of thought was put into its design it seems. The negative things I have been reading about the phone don't really seem to be that big of a deal to me compared to everything else out there. Hope this info helps you make your decision.
Pros 48 hours & getting accustomed to new GUI; tweaked most features. Using Touchdown for my enterprise email & it works great (big concern moving from Blackberry Tour). All positives on display brightness, keyboard, speaker phone, soft keyboard &
Cons The battery life is what you would expect.
Summary I travel a lot and the Droid gives me all the access to email and internet I need The speed of the device and operating system is remarkable.
I have used other soft keyboards before (Backberry Storm) and never had good performance with my fat fingers. I have been using the softkeys for texting and am surprised at how well it picks up my keystrokes. For emails, I am still using the slide out keyboard.
The phone has a lot of keystroke and time saving features. One cool feature is the proximity sensor; when you raise and lower the phone to your ear functionality changes- very intuitive. I also like the Haptic feedback - a slight vibration as you depress keys. This feedback allows you to focus on the screen without wondering if you pressed the key properly.
Access to the numerous applications is huge coming from the Blackberry, In all fairness its not just the access but the ease in which the applications load. I added about 15 apps right off the bat. The typical ones for travel and social. I was able to select numerous applications for download and the phone just kept on downloading without a hitch. The great part was the configuration was easier than any other device I have used.
Phone quality is outstanding, both the speaker and the handset. I am traveling to Hong Kong soon and will update my post on the device performance overseas.
"Sweet phone"on by bebopjazz48
Pros Keyboard, apps, Android and syncing. Very decent camera with BIG screen
Cons None really, been using for about a month. Had battery issues as others have noted, wouldn't last past 6 hours. Once battery was allowed to go totally dead and fully recharged battery life has been what I'd expect(lasts from 7am till close to midnight bef
Summary I know 4 others with this phone and none of us have the glitch problems some folks speak of. I'd recommend to anyone wanting a smartphone.
Pros Has both keyboard and touch screen.
Cons Battery life is short. Keyboard has mind of own. It locks randomly and presses whatever keys it likes. Back button stops working.
Summary This phone is horrible and annoying!!! My company gave us these and everyone is having similar problems. They refer to the Driod as having a mind of its own. The keyboard does what it wants whenever it wants. The phone will text, call, and email people randomly at any hour of the day/night and you have to hurry to pull the battery out before it completes its random messaging. The touch screen lock sometimes and you must pull the battery out to get it working again. My back button stops working randomly daily. Lets face it Motorola has always had their glitches with their phones. This thing is a typically Motorola POS. Save yourself time and aggravation. DON'T BUY unless you want to drive yourself CRAZY!!!!!!!!
