Summary: The battery life and performance on Verizon 4G has been fantastic!!

I have been using my Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX since March 2012. The last 7 months I have had nothing but great success with this phone! It is the best smartphone yet. I have had 3 different iPhones and the original Motorola Droid. I didn't want to go back to the iDevices because every app I use and then some are also available on Android. I also fell in love with Android's flexibility. This by far was a definite step up into something really, really good. The Samsung Galaxy S III wasn't shipping at the time and I considered waiting for it until I held the RAZR MAXX in my hands. It felt right! Plus the RAZR MAXX's card slot for the microSD is on the side - no need to power down the phone, remove the back cover just to get to the microSD like on the Galaxy S III...

Love the front facing camera and I have used it for Skype. Also the improved rear facing camera added 1080p video recording and 8mp. Video effects in the camera software have improved image quality overall and it does real well in close up picture taking. On a recent trip my RAZR MAXX played backup to my regular Canon DSLR for capturing a quick pic of the same photo to post on Facebook and Twitter.

With the upgrade to ICS it improved overall functionality as well. Complete Google services like maps, Google+ meant that as soon as I entered in my Gmail account info, email, contacts, calendars, even my photos got automatically synced. I didn't have to use iCloud or the Google dance to install Gmail support like you have to do on the iPhone: (http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=77702) ...

Smart Actions are a lifesaver too. The RAZR MAXX has this built in Smart Actions that simplifies day-to-day actions by using automation for repetitive tasks. It uses 'rules' and 'action' to create a really flexible system. For example, I have one rule when the phone detects I am at my office (via GPS or cell or Wi-Fi), it sets the ringer on silent and has a priority list to turn on the ringer if certain people call (i.e., the family or really close friends). Once I leave work, another rule turns the ringer on loud and turns Bluetooth, ON and Wi-Fi, OFF. The combinations are almost endless. I have created rules for a desk clock at home, weekend and weeknight priority call lists and even a rule for when the device is connected to the car cradle!

Support for the Zedge app that iPhone doesn't have, Live Wallpaper, improvements with Google Play and even Netflix and Hulu Plus support have me singing praises of this phone!

Bottom line: Superior battery life, large-bright screen, microSD card support, flawless performance on Verizon, 4G support long before the iPhone had it, live wallpaper and smart actions. All this equals a great experience and a wonderful smartphone!
