Pros full Keyboard with raised buttons - I see people bashing this feature. I am 6'5" with large hands, i type emails and text messages just fine, and quite fast!
Cons the only cons i have with are the software metropcs has installed. Its hard, if not impossible to download mp3's or other certain things using the motorola hints web browser
Summary I see a lot of small bad reviews, and the phone must have improved or these guys are babies! Small stiff buttons?! Not a chance its fine! Also, blame the service for poor performance! My service is fine, infact people on the other end can hear everything crystal clear, I cant tap my pen on the desk an arms length away! Do you really think a $300 phone could be that bad?
Pros full keyboard
2 megepixel camera (better than many texting phones)
Cons The buttons are uncomfortable
The software is slow
Summary I had this phone for Alltel. i was happy to get it because it was only one of 2 phones that had full keyboards and did not require a smartphone plan to own. the other alternative was the scoop. Compared to a phone like the scoop, that had many hardware problems, i decided to go with the Hint. Though it did provide me with a full keyboard and still allowed me to have a somewhat cheap bill every month, I just could not handle it enough to keep it. The OK button was hard to push, it was too thin, i'd always end up pushing the navagation keys. Also, the texting buttons were hard and squished. It hurt the tips of my thumbs to use. Lastly, the phones software was too slow. It was wanted to move from a text i was writing to one i had just gotten it would take almost 7 seconds. Too long for a phone that is targeted to a text oriented group. Also, like a problem i've had with many Alltel phones, the phone would randomly restart itself. I do not know if all phones would do that but mine did. As for the back cover, mine stayed on just fine.
If this is the best texting phone available (and i say this knowing that some of the alternatives are garbage too) and you did not want to pay extra for a smart phone plan, i suppose i would suggest this phone, but unless you desparetly need a texting phone, stay away
Pros - Raised buttons make texting easier
- High Camera res and ability to edit pictures after they were taken was a huge plus
- small size makes it easy to carry without compromising ease of use
- all around fun fone to own and use
Cons - slow with data transfer
- buttons somewhat small and paint chips off them easily
Pros This phone works great for me,I like the keyboard alot, because of my small fingers, the big screen is great,i love the style of it,and the camera and camcorder are some of the best out of all of my phones, and easy on screen menu is good.
Cons Well,The back of my phone cover used to always come off but I easily solved this by getting a back phone cover,it turns off sometimes on its own if i click a messege it will freeze then shut off.
Summary In conclusion, I like this phone alot but, i have had to send it in once because it was changing colors, and going negitive colors and freezing and making weird sounds, its not the best reliable phone but i'd say for teenagers its one of the best affordable motorola full keyboard phones there is from U.S. Cellular,And a Perfect phone if they love music.
Pros I like the raised keys, for some reason they are easier for me to use. Phone has crashed into the floor many times, not a scratch! The screen is awesome, the simple menu is also nice.
Cons Sometimes it randomly turns itself off, but I don't know if this is just my phone or if all of them do that.
Summary I really like this phone, I've had no major problems with it, but unfortunately I will have to switch phones as AT&T is buying out Altell in my area.... :( Otherwise I would not get rid of it.
