"Looks great, almost unusable due to software problems"
Pros: It's a good-looking phone. Screen quality is good.
Cons: Serious software problems. Handwriting recognition is so bad it's agonizing to write out a message. Letters have to be formed slowly and carefully, and it gets the letter wrong about 10% of the time.
Summary: Enjoy looking at this phone, but don't buy it. I should be able to open a phone and dial a number and get connected without too much effort. With the A1200, I cannot. I have to pull out the stylus and mouse around, giving the phone my full concentration as I do so. To send an SMS, I need to be sitting down and use two hands and full concentration, and even so, it's painfully slow and inaccurate to write the message out. This phone is nothing but a disappointment, despite its stylish design. Oh and the software crashes sometimes for no reason. And there doesn't seem to be any way to download new firmware for it. I'm going to shoot this phone as soon as I get something else. (Yes, shoot it, with a shotgun.)
