"Excellent blend of functionality and form factor"
Pros: Functionality, flexibility, third party software extendability
Cons: Battery life, Verizon service pricing
Summary: I have had the Q now for several months. I do corporate and personal email on the road, exchange calendaring enhanced with Papyrus calendar software on the phone, and keep large contact database. I also use bluetooth GPS with Copilot software, watch some DVD movies with the excellent TCPMP freeware media player, store a plethora of passwords and personal information with Roboform and eWallet so it is easily and immediately accessible wherever I am. With internet access I can check flight status and weather.
My full form factor PDA?s have set in the desk drawer for some time. Functional more powerful but one more piece of hardware to carry and larger than anything I want to have on me at all times. The Q has 95% of the functionality w/o the bulk and can be put in any pocket w/o dragging feeling like a brick is being carried around. I travel extensively both domestically and internationally and the small form factor is fantastic. Even more so with recent security restriction traveling light is a necessity. Yeah Q - PDA, GPS, phone, camera, media player in one. In a pinch it can be used as a flashlight with Pocket light which turns the flash on and off.
Battery life is shorter when heavily using the PDA functions but lasts the day. With just phone usage it is similar to other less functional phones in life. But I'd recommend having a extended battery. Wireless would be nice but not with a tradeoff in size or battery life.
Wishes ? better battery life, thinner, lighter, bigger screen and clamshell it. And of course --- Verizon come on a more reasonable access fee. I get home broadband and VOIP for less.
