"AMAZING FEATURES"on by dsm51182
Pros Large display, Bluetooth, 2.0 Mp camera, mp3 player, Removable memory, sleek design, speakerphone, the list goes on...
Cons made out of plastic but rubberized material on the outside is great
Summary I just recieved this phone today in the mail ordered it from topgiant.com and I wasnt sure exactly what it would look like in person because of its size but its still a really great phone. The Mp3 Player is really great, the phone came with a set of stereo headphones and a 128 MB memory card. I got mine in dark blue which looks really great. The phone is larger than the razr but it feels great with the new rubberized material on the outside. The 2.0 MP camera is amazing and the speakerphone is super loud. Its not aluminum like the original razr but the plastic still feels solid. The large internal screen is awesome for viewing videos and pictures and the call quality with T-Mobile is really great as well. I would recomend this phone to anyone!
Pros AI Voice Recog, 2MP Camera, New S/W
Cons Spotty Performance with Cingular
Summary Absolutely love this phone! Basic features work well on Cingular, but to use Media Net I had to download a MediaNet update from my Cingular profile, Phone & Device Support, V3 (they don't have any downloads for the V3X yet) This gave me MediaNet, but with no graphics - text only.
MMS cannot be downloaded, but you can put the settings in manually.
What makes up for all of that is an "artificial intelligence" feature that actually recognizes your voice - there is NO prerecording of names to voice dial, plus you can voice dial numbers by digits which is helpful at times - can't wait for Cingular to catch up and start providing Video Call service!
Pros Camera at 2 mp is superb, speaker phone is loud even in a crowd and the color of the pictures taken are fantastick
Cons battery life could be better
Summary This is the razr with no flaws. They finally listened and did it right. I have the phone on T-Mobile network in USA and i have no problems. The fact that the 3g features dont work is fine, because of the quality of the unit itself is just amazing. some of the reviews given to the phone proves one thing, that there are a lot of idiots purchasing phones, and not reading the manual. stop and read before you give an opinion and to you idiots that give reviews without owning the product shut up your views are not needed or valid until you own the product and have used it for some time.
Pros Good camera, size, features, stereo bluetooth, phone tools
Cons Not fully functional in US due to network limitations here
Summary I purchased this phone while deployed overseas and think it was worth the money. You can find these on line, unlocked (the only way they come) for a little over $200. Anyway, the only thing I know of that doesn't work here in the US on this phone is the Tele-Conferencing feature because of the way our networks SUCK.
Some things to know right off the bat before purchasing this phone for use in the US:
Motorola will not support it. I was wondering what was the maximum size micro SD card that the phone would accept and called Motorola to ask. They don't support this phone for use in the US was about all I could get out of the guy (who was obviously NOT in the US as he told me this). Anyway, it's technically a 1gb, although it will acknowledge a 2gb; it just doesn't read it correctly to let you know what's used/available.
Before trying to use this phone in the US, you need to know your network's set ups for sending/receiving MMS, and for web browsing. Text messaging worked fine from the get-go.
For T-Mobile, as I have, you need to set up your "Web Session" as follows:
Scroll down and choose the [New Entry] choice.
Service Type 1: WAP
Gateway IP: 188.8.131.52
Port 1: 9201
Service Type 2: WAP
Gateway IP 2: 184.108.40.206
Port 2: 9201
Speed (BPS) 1: 9600
Line Type 1: ISDN
GPRS APN: wap.voicestream.com
Anything not listed there, DO NOT CHANGE.
For MMS (picture messages):
Server Info: select change
then Options and New.
Service Name: T-Mobile
Server Name: http://220.127.116.11/servlets/mms
Web Session Name: T-Mobile
and you should be ready to web browse and send/receive MMS.
If at any time a setting on this phone doesn't work correctly, just bring it to your nearest full-function (not a kiosk) T-Mobile store and ask someone to assist. They can call CS and get the right answers. If you call, you will probably ask the wrong questions and they will get confused.
Also, you can do a google search for "Razr Tmobile MMS setting" and a very helpful page pops up (although it's not specifically for a V3x, the set ups listed work).
Hope this helps.
"Best buy..."on by DrunkDwarf
Pros 3G, 2MPx camera, microSD slot, pretty thin, best display, mp3 controls on mini diplay
Cons big when opened, rare software bugs
Summary I got this phone some 5 months ago for 200 euros so it was best buy. Though i'm Nokia fan i've had moto a925 before this phone.
The phone is elegant, small (when closed), has big best-in-the-class display, 2Mxp really god camera with (not-so-useful) flash. The keypad requires some time for practice, but once u learn it there wont be a problem. Mine phone came with 128mb microSD card. Another thing is that it comes with 64Mb of internal memory which u can use to store ur photos, while keeping microSD for music. U get USB sync cable with phone. When connected to PC phone can work as USB drive also (no drivers needed). Another nice thing is when u connect it to the PC phone charges itself over USB, slower than from adapter (it takes it about 2 hours to charge 80%, 1 hour on adapter).Phone synchronizes with PC flawlessly. PC software is really good. Good thing with Motorolas is that, even they have preinstalled OS, u can change EVERYTHING. I've upgraded firmware, god rid of many provider settings, and preinstalled thing s i wasn't using. Also i reconfigured the audio.cfg so the phone is 2 times louder (and still within safe settings), sound in the headset is also louder. So if u like modding ur gadgets this is paradise Battery lasts for 3 days with my phone, with mediocre usage, but that is not really a problem if u charge it often Display has really clear colors and it's pretty big with high resolution, so i can freely say it`s best in its class. Preinstalled MP3 player is OK, it supports playlists, and when u close the phone u can control it on the outer display or view the playlist. Before updating firmware phone had some rare bugs, like reseting itself, but i solved that with independent firmware update.
