Pros Bluetooth, MP3's, 2 clr displays, solid feel, nice keypad
Cons menu key a bit small
Summary I've had this phone three weeks now, given it heavy use, and thought post my two cents on it.
So far, so good! Overall, a real nice phone. The phone has a nice big internal display screen that has bright colors, and seems to be very bright when lit by the backlight. Nokia has had some less than great displays on some previous phones, but this screen seems exceptional. I also the outside display, which is even color – and I have been able to use the phone’s menus to put family photos as backgrounds for both the small and big display.
This phone seems very solid. It doesn’t seem to have the squeaks and creaks some phones I have had.
I would call the styling is elegant and professional – at first I thought might be a bit conservative, but I quickly grew to like this phone’s look. I looks like an expensive phone.
The menu key is a bit small, but this isn’t a major drawback. I simply find that a fingernail is sometimes needed to push this key.
The MP3 option on this phone is awesome! I have had fun downloading songs onto my laptop, and then transferring them to the phone. The memory card works great for storing songs – this card sits under the battery.
I have tried the speakerphone and found it sound quite good. It works great in the car also for hands-free using the speakerphone.
Have you tried some VGA camera phones and found picture quality terrible? This phone is a surprise for me because although it has a VGA camera, it takes great photos. I had a v300 before this one (GSM phone) and that phone took terrible photos. This 6255i has much better photo quality.
The only reason I didn’t rate this phone a 10 is there are a few phones out there that might be more high tech, such as having a multi-mega pixel camera – but those phones are also more expensive.
So, overall I have to strongly recommend this phone!
Pros Great camera, bluetooth, OK design, MP3, Card slot, big external screen, good battery and call quality, great games and extras
Cons flimsy antenna, slightly large, Cant assign MP3s to specific people
Summary My family just upgraded all our phones. We have nTelos and we looked at cingular but decided the best value was nTelos. I saw this phone online for $150 and i thought that was sort of reasonable for the features. I upgraded from a Nokia 3205 which was given to another family member. I was satisfied with it but it seemed to have limitations such as recordings couldnt be played via loudspeaker for example.
I am very happy with this phone. It seems very functional and capeable. it is sort of big, but compact compared to other flip phones. I had no probems carrying it around in my pocket and im sure it wouldnt pose a problem for a woman to carry in her purse. The camera on it has excelent quality when adjusted for the highest resolution. There is plenty of memory to store videos and photos. I invested in a $40 bluetooth adapter for my computer to send photos and other files and ive had no problems. The videos are good. i was disapointed when cnet said it only records 15 second videos, but when you go into camera options you can choose maximum video length for 3 minutes of video. The external screen is plenty big and vibrant and it has a great flash that lights up a dark room. The looks of this phone arent cutting edge but overall pleasing. I miss the white backlight for my keypad, but the green is quite alright. buttons are big and GREAT for texting i have found
The screen is very nice on this phone big and beautiful. i love it. there were 5 games on this phone and all of them are very entertaining. i noticed under extras there is a world clock, translator for french spanish and portugeese, and a converter for many things like currency, metric, and temperature. these are great little tools and i was shocked how many words are in the translater.
The calls on this phone are good quality and the speakerphone is plenty loud. The voice recorder on this phone is so good i can even make them my rightones and it sounds very decent.
overall this is a great phone. there are some excelent things on it and i see many great things in store for nokia if they keepy up this good work.
Pros Balanced, jam packed with great features, solid and clean!!
Cons It just needed a better quality camera........instead of the video........
Summary After owning plenty of previous nokia phones and the treo 600 and 650, this phone is a breath of fresh air!! i love being able to listen to the radio, mp3s, speakerphone and reception is great!! (i got it under metro pcs) the optional antennae which i was skeptical about at first is actually a welcome addition!! its seen as more of a feature granting me the capability to get a bit better reception in spotty areas!! my treo 650 with cingular was HORRIBLE in my neighborhood 94587 in the bay area california, dropping calls 95% of the time!! UNBELIEVABLE!! i dont got a phone line in my home so this was terribly frustrating. i had to walk outside to the street to make calls. but now with metro and their cdma its A LOT better to say the least, with the antenna up calls drop WAY less than before and i can actually hold converstions in my home!! anyways, again, the sound quality is great, the FM radio is fun, mp3s are playable with expandable memory and have the option of a graphic equalizer, the camera is average, but again, the video record is totally useless and blurry so i wish they opted to negate that and just get as close to 2 megapixel or 1 for that matter. the screens both look incredibly vibrant and i like the fact i can answer the phone speakerphone via the push of the voice recod button on the side. all in all this phone has everything you could want in a phone, everything of balanced quality and wonderful to talk on, slee, compact and solid!! Get it!!
Pros good signal, good blue tooth and great accessories
Cons nothing serious
Summary I installed a 1 gb mmc card I bought on ebay, it installed easily as promised and was accepted without any problems. $65. Then I ordered the DKU-2 cable on ebay for $3.95, works fine. Using nokia suite on my pc I was able to download approx 200 mp3's to the card in less than 45 minutes. FM radio works fine. adding mp3's as ringtones is somewhat difficult.
Phone rarely drops calls, I use metro pcs in Florida.
Camera works ok, resolution is low but acceptable. Battery life is about 2 1/2 days on standby. The blue tooth by nokia works fine, its comfortable and has about a 30 ft range. Cost about $49.
All in All a great phone, the more I use it, the more I learn.
Pros dual color screens, mp3 player, speakerphone, new design from nokia
Cons using flash on pictures makes them look overexposed
Summary I got this phone back in July. I saw it one day at Alltel and knew then that I had to have it. Luckily, our contract was up from the last two years, so I was able to get it cheaper on a new contract. I absolutely love this phone. One thing that made me mad though was that when I asked the people at Alltel if the faceplate was interchangable, they told me it was. Obviously because they sold faceplates for it. But then it got damaged when I tried to remove it, and when I asked to get it replaced, they told me they couldn't because I messed it up. I told them that they told me it could come off, but they told me it was a misunderstanding. Ugh!
