Pros i returned it, bought a nos e62 to replace my aging one. i much prefer my brand new 2006 e62. the old one worked very well and was, in some ways, almost the perfect phone. the screen was crisp and bright, but small. gorgeous build and finish, but--
Cons crippled by not having the chip for blackberry. xpress mail is wretched. keyboard is too small. screen is too small. way too much att crapware. and web speaker and speakerphone quality not as good as e62. phone calls broken, choppy, garbled.
Summary nice industrial design, but too small, and i am male, with average sized hands. too many typos. tedious to work on such a small keyboard, and combined with awful xpressweb and speakerphone typo in review, just the speakerphone is weak in regard to that section. stay away from this phone.
maill functions results in an horrible experience that takes three times as long just to compose and send an email. back to the drawing board. get it right next time. gorgeous build and finish, but cant live with it because it doesn't cover the basics adequately.

Updated on Oct 8, 2009so its gone 3 weeks now and i dont miss it at all. a waste of time just trying it, finding a nos e62, and returning the e71x. additional complaints: lousy sound while playing music, when locking the keypad the screen flashes to to the menu screen momentarily, then locks to idle. very very shoddy.think twice about smaller being better. its not. this phone would be better if it were as big as the iphone, and that way, you could put a nice huge screen on it. maybe even some touch functions as well. hope you nokianuts come up with a great phone next time, or i'm outa here.
a smartphone without blackberry is useless. xpress mail isnt worth it being free.
att: stop with the crapware or just make it deleteable. give phones to test users who can rate it for you before you spend big bucks on promotions. this phone was not ready for prime time. i'm surprised people liked it. pretty phone, nice feel. but the rest of it sucked...
Pros Full of features that every one would want and an attractive price tag of $99 with AT&T
Cons Poor.. very poor battery life.
Drops signal on a consistent basis.
Summary Tried this phone for exactly 29 days. Battery life did not improve. Calls were dropped consistently every day. I live and work out of New York Metro so definitely not an issue with coverage. Battery.. ok, maybe mine was defective, but the charge never lasted for more than half a day, even while the phone was used minimally without any of the smartphone features (like email express, messenger) running in the background.
AT&T forum discussion thread says it all... http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=nokia&thread.id=54671
If it wasn't for the features, I'd give a 0 rating, but what are features good for or smart for if the phone drops calls consistently and in addition does not last more than 8 hours (with max 2 hour talk time). Really dissappointed in Nokia and AT&T. Suggest you wait for firmware fix or the next model. Cheers.
Pros Physical design: great appearance and compact form, screen size and clarity, camera and video...It seems to have everything and I'm still learning its nuances.
Cons 2.5 mm headphone jack
User interface could be more intuitive.
I don't like the way AT&T stuck me with there standard apps
Summary Has just about everything I need in a smart phone; good screen, good texting and emailing. Good camera. Much better than the BB curve (my wife has one). Metal casing gives it a very solid feel. Probably not as fun as an iphone but very efficient and functional; very much more a tool than a toy.One more thing: the Nokia desktop software for synching w/ your laptop or desktop is great...I used to have a BB Pearl and found their desktop software not as good. It will be great when Nokia OVI becomes available for this phone.

Pros Flash for camera, keyboard decent size keys, overall phone construction is perfect
Cons Phone needs rebooting constantly, pops up errors when sync email (but as soon as i turn off and power back on works for a bit), address book names not linked to incoming calls, caller id for number only..not name, backlit center key blinks constant
Summary I love the flash for the camera because it just takes better pictures, however the constant rebooting is really a drawback. When i miss calls or receive voice mail, the phone will not pop up a reminder until i reboot, that really sucks. The phone is set to sync email every 30 mins however, unless i reboot a few times daily it does not happen. Therefore I miss emails, calls and voicemail because there are no reminders and sync just does NOT work properly. There is a reason this phone is so cheap. The screen plastic top coating is super breakable too. I dropped my phone in my bedroom, CARPET, and the screen cracked in the corner because it landed on the charger. Wish i would have NEVER ordered this phone. Not comparable to any other smart phone as it does not work very well.
Pros Simple to use and not overly challenging for the moderate user. That is, I am not an extreme tech geek or anything, but wanted a phone that had all the current features and fits in my pocket comfortably.
Cons No real complaints. I could say the battery and the volume for the speaker phone, but they are still better than the phones I had in the past. Battery is like a 1.5 - 2 day life and speaker phone is still audible any way you look at it.
Summary Wonderful phone and the price is great. Free with my AT&T upgrade this time, so can't beat that. I saw two main complaints that I think follow every phone model. Battery life and keyboard complaints. Look, battery life is good for me, I guess it just depends on how you use it. If you reel off 1000 texts a day and use it as a secondary computer, you will probably drain it quicker. Otherwise, the keyboard is a bit tight at first, but the buttons are raised in a way that make it very easy to manage. All in all, my friends with Blackberry's love the fact it doesn't have a roller ball to scroll (which constantly breaks on blackberry's) and it's very thin, so it doesn't look like a George Costanza wallet in your pocket. The camera is really nice and the pictures actually come out very clear. I would certainly recommend.
