"Great phone - excellent hardware."
4.5 starson by mravichandranPros: I do not have a data plan (even more plus plan - family) and WAP apps work on wi-fi. calls did not drop on my drive talk with my friend in tmobile. my blackberry curve on teh same route (t-mobile) used to drop. hardware is rock solid.
Cons: clunky interface - biggest complaint of symbian OS. contacts book is not nice and smooth like Blackberry. baseline looks are difficult and unable remove the wallpaper photo and set it to default.
Summary: i am still learning to use the phone. like every phone, there are some 'gotchas' but i like the phone and strongly recommend this. it instantly grabs the aailable Wifi and lets me know if i want to connect.

Does the E73 do okay with text and picture messaging without the data plan? From talking to a rep, I got the impression one had to purchase a data plan for the phone to even function. Also, if one does not purchase a data plan, will he/she see a per usage charge on the bill for every text or picture sent?
