"Nokia n900 - Tablet Device."4.0 starson by chunkie
Pros: Nokia product with 2 year limited warranty.
Full Web Browser with adobe.
Virtual & querty keypads.
4 desktops which can be fully customized.
Fantastic e mail software.
Ovi now supports the n900 after the latest update.
Cons: Finger print magent so its a good job it comes bundled with a cleaning cloth.
For such a premium handset it would have been nice to have a case enclosed.
Summary: This is a tablet device with basic fone capabilities.
What it wont do regarding fone usage does not hinder me in anyway. Ive never used speed dial on any fone anyway. You can now use mms via an app called ffmms.
Do your homework before buying this device. Know what your getting.
Battery life has always been a bone of contention with many fones and now more with smart fones. Take a look around the forums and you will see that end users are in many cases unhappy with battery life. Its a fact that smartfones need power to allow all the many features they provide. My advice is to keep a usb cable or charger where you work too in case you want to top up.
A good app to have on the n900 is 'autodisconnect' as this will stop the fone always being connected to the web.
I make a few calls a day and send many texts a day with an hour or so browsing resulting a charge of the battery every 1-2 days. This is normal. Its not a run of the mill handset that lasts for 4-5 days.
I had reservations at first in getting this device but can safely im glad i did. I now have an open source device that has endless capabilities. One word of caution: Be very careful on downloading from the extras testing site. These are not meant for the normal user but for users who are experianced in using beta software.
The case CP-321 is good for this device.
