"I love this thing!" on by dbcraig
Pros: Easy to use; small; lots of features; Palm OS
Cons: 2.5mm headphone jack; loading music
Summary: This is my first Smart Phone, and I am pleased! I have been a Palm user for about 10 years, and this is my 4th Palm device. I wanted to stay with the Palm for a couple of reasons: Ease of use, and a number of software apps that I am familiar with. I have found that all of my Palm apps work perfectly with the Centro! The SD Micro card is a nice feature--I store all of my music, pictures, and Bible apps on it. The camera is great, and takes more than acceptable pictures. The phone's sound is very good, and reception is better than my last 3 phones. I love the ability of having my Palm address book, and then seeing those names come up when they call. I have canceled my Sprint Voice Command, since I don't need it any more. The little speaker even sounds half-way decent.
The Sprint Music Store is not on-line yet, so purchasing music is not available. It is fairly easy to load music to the phone via the computer, but took a few times to figure it out...
This is a great phone, PDA, and gadget. And for the price, it can't be beat! -
"LOOSE ALL YOUR DATA MILES FROM HOME" on by nocircuit
Pros: COOL PALM PDA FUNCTIONS
Cons: LOOSE ALL YOUR DATA MILES FROM HOME
Summary: Listen Up You Tards this is important !
if Centro crashes when your on the road or at the mall ... and you did not opt for the extra $7 a month Wireless Data Back-Up Add-On
YOU JUST LOST All YOUR CONTACTS & PHONE NUMBERS & TO DO's & CALENDAR EVENTS
Till you get back to your computer and HotSync
??? Is that Retarded ???
YES I THINK SO !!!
CALL ME A CYNIC IF YOU WANT but ...
I could See Sprint SHIFTY AS ANY other carrier CAPITOLIZING by resetting your phone accidentally of course ahem ...
when they catch you roamin 50 + miles from home in an effort to get you to sucker up for the $7/month Add-On ...
think of the extra hundreds of $$$ MILLION's
they could generate in a few weeks with an
"accidental glitch/programmers key stroke"
from poor customers stranded miles from home with all there DATA missing & needing to be wirelessly backed up ...
FEEL LUCKY PUNK ... WELL DO YA ?
"Back Up Cards" yeah right it will take you ten minutes from the time your phone has crashed & powered back up and backs everything back up considering the card would have to be updated as often as you alter your contacts or schedule and most people are going to want the 4 gig card in there most of the time and not a 128 mb back up card ....
so good luck making an emegency call when the phone locks up and you have to switch to a non current version of your data backed up on a card that will probably hardly ever be current due to the difficulty of the internal card swapping process...
FIX THIS PALM! ya tards ...
"non-smart" phones dont crash & loose there contacts and calendar and alarm clock settings when you swap out the battery or power down ...
and these are
SUPPOSED TO BE SMART PHONES ... duh
JUST HOW SMART IS THAT ?
by the way, why is it you can get a 4 gig
usb thumb drive for $12.99 Retail and smart phone manufacturers like Palm, Motorola, HTC amd others throw A PATHETIC 64 mb of user program space at you and tell you its a healthy amount of space for all your stuff ...
uhm I would pay THREE times as much for this phone if they gave me 1990's motorola brick fone hi-impact plastic housing and a gig or 2 of space and make it boot up in 18 seconds no matter what crapware you accidentaly installed on there and at the very least, have your contacts phone numbers lookin back at you after a reset
I dont get it ...
CELFONE = PRIORITY # 1 YOU GOONS !
lol when the iPhone locks up you have to Sync with iTunes same garbage even worse thephone wont work at all and you have to reflash the whole operating system back into it hysterical ... uhmmm what if your at the ball game or being chased down the street by a gang of angry homeless people
or a flock of wild hungry bears
errr smart phone not that SMART ...
I have a better idea get a nice little blue tooth fone with an extended battery that never crashes and you'l never reach for your fone and not have it be able to dial out
Sanyos have some nice ones
LOUD BUILT IN RINGERS
Calendar alarms
5 Alarm Clocks Repeating Daily, Weekly ...
Built in 1 Touch 30 number Voice Dialing
Right from the blue tooth head set
Voice Memo Up to 300 Record by pressing
1 dedicated button right thru your blue tooth headset...
Never crash your contacts always there when you NEED IT !
I have a 7 year old Palm Tungsten C with a faster processor and the same amount of user ram ... wheres the beef ???
