  • "This is a very good phone!"
    on by jkdj2010

Pros Easy to use, Multitasking, Palm Synergy, Customization, Wi-Fi, Small Size and design

Cons Battery Life, Small Keys (minor), Volume Level, Gets sluggish with heavier use, limited memory

Summary The Pixi Plus is small and thin and easy to fit in a pocket. For me this is one of the good things about this phone. It looks nice and is fits nicely in the hand. Everything on the phone is easily reachable.

The screen size is small but the Pixi makes up for it by using the screen space very well. The colors on the screen look good to very good depending on the brightness setting. Reading web pages and text are pretty good especially when flipped to landscape mode and zoomed in. You will find yourself doing quite a bit of scrolling though. The screen was still pretty readable for me even out in sunlight.

The physical keyboard sits right under the screen. It is great for me because I don't have to take extra steps to get to the keyboard and the keyboard doesn't take up screen space. The keys on the Pixi are small. But they are usable for all but the largest of fingers. I would say if you could type on a previous palm phone or blackberry phone then you could get used to typing on this phone.

Also under the screen but above the keyboard is the gesture area used for navigation and minimizing apps. It is very simple and easy to use. It becomes second nature in no time. And you are not hunting around the phone for back and home buttons. You also get a 3.5mm headphone jack, A micro-usb port, and a silence/ringer switch. The palm touchstone dock and back cover are sold seperately and are not necessary but they add a nice cool factor to the phone.

You only get 8gb of memory on this phone. I don't use alot of phone memory myself but it could be a negative for some that would like to expand the memory.

Now lets start talking about the best part of this phone which is webos. Now WebOS is a great user interface and here is why: simplicity. What makes WebOS great is that once you learn the phone everything is second nature. No thinking about it. You just do it. Now part one is gesture navigation. Part two is the deck of cards multitasking. Part three is palm synergy syncing and unobtrusive notifications. I think that these three things make webOS one of the best mobile operating systems out there. In my opinion the user interface of WebOS is unmatched.

As far as features the Palm Pixi lags behind alot of the newer smartphones out there. The Palm App catalog doesn't have near as many app options as iphone or andriod phones. Also the Pixi lags behind in the hardware department also. It doesn't have the latest high def screens, High Pixel Cameras, or high speed processors. But the Palm Pixi has all the necessities that a smart phone would need. 3G, Wi-Fi, Email, Messaging, Social Netwoking, Calendar, and Syncing.

The Palm Pixi's call quality works very well for me. And I usally have at least a 2 bar signal. The speaker phone sound is hard to hear unless you crank it all the way up. The stock battery is enough to get you through a day.

The Palm Plixi plus is a great phone for me. I would recommend it for more casual phone users. Also look forward to WebOS 2.0 coming soon!!!!!

  • "Good, but has issues"
    on by ltracy71

Pros The phone has all the items you need if your just starting out with a smart phone. Web, Facebook, Texting and misc. applications

Cons The back cover is coming apart in less than a month. The back cover breaks pretty easy if you don't take off really careful.

Summary Good phone, colors are good, good keyboard fuction. The back cover sucks & the battery life is not great, but overall a decent phone.

  • "Issues after a while"
    on by bsbecky108

Pros multitasking, small, good internet connection

Cons it was confusing to work at first, after a while it starts freezing, my back cover started falling apart a month after i bought it (i take care of my phone), there is no memory card slot, the Bluetooth doesn't connect to phones, the camera sucks

Summary Okay, well, i love how small it is and because of the back, it is easy to grip meaning i never drop it. i like the slide-back function. overall this phone is cute but not something i would get if i like to use your phone all day. the battery life is horrible, my phone is falling apart so it no longer looks cute. the camera doesn't have zoom and the camera starts messing up after a while. i like some of the apps that are available to download. i like its texting feature, there is no inbox, outbox, drafts option, its all one conversation. sometimes the slide-back feature goes crazy. i wanted a phone with great bluetooth and a memory card slot because i listen to music all the time and i swap stuff over bluetooth with my friends. i can't do those things on the palm pixi plus.

so it is really not worth having it. i've only had it for about 3 months. my last 3 phones were the same kind, i just got replacements. so i wanted this one to last long also. its not working out
