"I can?t say the 680 is an overall improvement over the 650."

Pros: Internal antenna, better call quality, brighter screen, more memory & faster.

Cons: Battery life less than 1/3 of Treo 650, shortcut tabs on the screen are in the way, and adding new contacts is a pain, Cheap stylus, SIMM location.
Summary: I went from a Clie to the 650 about 2 years ago, then bought the 680 in November ?06. The 680 is faster, and seems to have about three times as much memory over the 650. Photo album is setup much better. Faster & easier to use. But, the battery life is very poor. I am accessing date & address info all day. With the phone off (this is not my primary phone), Bluetooth off and not playing music, it still won?t last a whole day. I have to carry a charger everywhere I go. The 650 lasted 5 days and played music from time to time! Playing music a lot & phone turned on I?d still get 3 goods days of use with the 650. Changing to a different battery was a bad idea. This battery is too small to last. Stylus, some may feel I?m being too picky; but the 650 stylus was a solid copper rod that felt great in my hand, was great to use (I?ve worn some of the silver finish off), the 680 stylus is rubber? Feels cheap. Shortcut tabs on the screen are in the way. For first time Treo owners this may not be a problem, but it slows me down and hinders adding contacts. I can?t figure out how to turn the tabs off. I change phones a lot (sometimes daily), the SIMM tray on the 650 was a marvel of modern technology, so on the new and ?Improved? 680, Palm puts the SIMM under the battery. Bad idea. For those of you who have a 650, unless you need more memory you might keep your 650. In all honesty I can?t say the 680 is an overall improvement over the 650.
