"Not Recommended"
Pros: Multi-tasking, Better then its predecessor 700w
Cons: Prone to crashing, buggy, not very user friendly
Summary: After getting an upgrade to this phone from the extremely problematic Treo 700w, I was pleased that the performance is improved. However the constant problems I've had with the 700w (after four phones), seem to be passed on to this phone. My largest complaint about the 700w was that it would crash during phone calls. No alert, no warning, nothing. The screen would just all of a sudden display the Treo logo, and restart. While Verizon has been extremely understanding of my problems, we still have been unable to get them resolved. The latest attempt was to send me this Treo, the 700wx. While it's only been slightly over a week since I've had it, and as of yet no middle-of-the-conversation crashing, the phone is still buggy. Not all of my calls go out. I end up dialing out multiple times before the phone actually "dials", and the same for making data connections. I end up attempting to connect several times before it actually establishes a connection. Something that seems simple, yet frustrating, is that the phone will alert you to a new voicemail via a small icon in the upper menu, and a small menu in the lower left reading "voicemail" when choosing this option and attempting to get the phone to dial the voicemail, it just sits doing nothing (does not even attempt to dial). This was working on the 700w, but apparently not on my new 700wx, so I can't imagine that it's just not set up right. This I discovered a few days after getting it going, with nothing on it but a few of my contacts. And just in case anyone who owns one is now saying, "you should reset your phone", this has been done. Numerous soft resets and a hard reset. A soft reset is like rebooting your computer, hard reset is like erasing your hard drive and reinstalling your entire system. And all this within a week of owning the new, and supposedly improved, 700wx. I hope that potential purchasers realize what they are getting into.
