Bottom line
A few quibbles notwithstanding, the powerhouse HTC One is a beautifully crafted, near-ideal smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy Appeal delivers basic Android 2.3 functionality with a slide-out keyboard and wallet-friendly price, but there are performance and design trade-offs.
The Sharp FX Plus is a budget Android 2.2 smartphone for certain first-timers, but when it comes to some features, you get what you pay for.
The AT&T Fusion is fine if you're a patient soul who doesn't expect much in a handset but wants to make the jump to Android. For everyone else, I suggest you move on.
