    "AWESOME DEVICE" on by ketzilover

Pros: Smaller than other cell phone/pda combos, user friendly interface,

Cons: no camera and limited ringer and theme downloads

Summary: I think that the cons of this phone are completely overshadowed by the pros. I will say that Sprint needs to get their s**t together and provide their employess with a MUCH better understanding of the Blackberry and Sprint crossover. However, since this is not a review about Sprint, let me just tell you that this phone is everything i hoped it would be and more. It is smaller and better looking than the Treo's. I was nervouse to step away from the Palm OS and learn something new but I was able to master this phone within a very short amount of time. Please do not be discouraged by the reviews of the Suretype, it is very simple to learn and master. As far as cellular reception goes, this phone matches up with phones that are geared to being used as just cell phones. Also, the tasks, memo pad and calandar are just as easy and useful as the ones on the palm OS.

One other thing. Sprint customer service is
not aware of the following, so please note **The phone is powered through the Sprint Power Vision Service, however should you need a data connection (i.e. web browsing) you will need to add the Blackberry Data Package which is $40 a month additional to your plan.** Its slightly pricey but woth it....the browser is lighting fast. So much so that I am considering cancelling my DSL on my PC!
Overall, this phone is great and if you can afford it you should definetyl invest. I use it for personal use.

    "Great PDA!" on by Shanshu311

Pros: Great color, easy to use, many options

Cons: No full keyboard, voice echo, random reboots

Summary: This was my first PDA phone, and I enjoyed it very much. It was great for sending text messages (SMS) and emails, and the calendar was easy to use and helpful. The menus are easy to navigate and the desktop is quick to manipulate to personal preference (hiding icons, etc). I was impressed with the speed and clarity for online sites and web browsing, and had very little errors in that regard. I also enjoyed the sync capabilities, which made it easy to update Microsoft Outlook and my Contacts list. I didn't like the echo I experienced sometimes while making Blackberry-Blackberry phone calls, and found the only way to avoid this was to use a Bluetooth. At times, the echo was so bad it would force me to end the call. There was also the occasional random reboot of the phone, but this happened so infrequently it wasn't a huge issue. The keyboard was nice, once you got used to it. 2 letters per key, and using SureType software made typing fast...but quirky. Sometimes the words SureType offered me were so far off from the word I intended, it was laughable. But the memory system adapts to your typing style and along with the fully-custom Word List, your ability to type fast and accurately is easy to get used to. This is a great PDA for people who are new to the world of Blackberry.

"Works for me" on by bilmelater

Pros: Ease of use from the outset, smaller size, great screen

    Cons: Telephone keypad

Summary: So far, I'm ecstatic with this unit. With the software automatically figuring out what word I'm trying to type 95% of the time, you don't need a dedicated QWERTY key for each letter. However, when you call a company with auto answer that asks you to type in an extension number, you have to use your powers of memory to remember where the letters are on a typical phone (ABC, DEF, etc.). But it's an incrediby small price to pay in light of all the features and benefits. I'm sold!!

Users of traditional Blackberry's will probably have more ramp-up time with the re-styled keypad on the 7130e. But since this was my first Blackberry, it took me only about a half-dozen entries to feel totally comfortable with it. Try it in the store (Verizon had a live model)....you'll see it's not as nasty as some folks reported.

    "Good Purchase" on by kmfncaf

Pros: E-mail, Browser Ease, Speakerphone, Speed

    Cons: Ringers, Wallpapers, User Guide

Summary: The phone works great. E-mails are very accessable. Internet works very fast. Brightness on screen is excellent. Keyboard does take a little to figure out.

Watch when purchasing this phone, the Sprint Vision Pack really does not apply, instead you are paying for a Data Pkg at $40.00 a month + $5.00 a month for unlimited Text Messaging. You are not able to get ringers and wallpapers from Sprint's website like you can with other phones. I was not told that when I purchased my Blackberry 7130e. The user's guide in the box is not much help, you need to go to Sprint's website and look at about 150 pages to really know what you are looking for. But all in all I like the phone.
