Pros: Screen is nice & large.
Easy 2 hold in your hand.
Great price 4 a 4G phone!
Great call quality.
Battery is good IF u know how to preserve it. (needs "active application" app to turn off active programs). I can watch a 2 hour movie & be ok 4 the da
Cons: Power and 3.5mm jacks are on top? Hard to hold and use while wired up.
2-3 times a day it LAGGSSS and you have to be patient and wait for the programs to sort themselves out.
Sound volume and quality through 3.5mm jack is a 6 out of 10.
Summary: I tried 2 phones, the HTC Wildfire S (3G) and this one. The HTC's interface was much better and lag free even though it was 600MHz processor vs the Samsung's 1GHz. The main reason I'm keeping this phone vs Virgin's Wildfire S is because of the 4G service for $60 per month from T-mobile. I've been a fan of T-Mobile for 8 years and counting. Their 4g service in the Chicagoland area is unmatched and their signal strength is AWESOME!! While my friends with AT&T, Verizon and Sprint can only get 1 bar, I usually have 4 to 5 bars and show them. :) . I can also use wifi calling from any wifi source and since I AT&T dsl service I have tons of places to go and not worry about signal strength.
Yes it is a pain when I need to call someone. You have to do at least 5 procedures to do it. 1st you have to push the side button (wait 2 seconds)to activate the phone then (wait 3 seconds)swipe away the cover page, then click phone then click contacts or favorites then click the name FINALLY you click the phone icon to dial. If you put them under the speed dial option you STILL have to click the side power button(wait 2 seconds), (wait 3 seconds) swipe the cover sheet, click phone and hold the appropriate number to call.
To improve battery life you need to use the "active application" app and monitor it constantly and close all unnecessary apps, lower your screen brightness, use the pulldown window on the main screen and turn off wifi and gps when not using them. Go to your settings, power saving mode and change it to 30% so you have enough power for the rest of the day.
