Pros Everything (apart from Kies (not that you need to use that anyway.
Cons Ok, it's big. I might keep my iPhone on the rear occasion I wear shorts!
Summary I got this beast on a bit of a whim when I was bored one day. I have to say it's the best impulse buy I've ever made. Don'e get me wrong, the iPhone is a juicy bit on kit. I'm afraid though I've now only used it to check out which apps I've got on it to see if I can get them for my beast! The iPhone now seems so small and with the Tab I don't need to put my glasses on when I get a text!
The ease of use is astounding, and a "back key" where it should be!
The pen is great, I wasn't sure at first but use it all the time now as it can even translate my handwriting after the odd beer or three!
I love it. I'll be interesting what the other big players bring out to compete with this beast.
Pros nothiong it can't do
Cons need app to sd function
Summary all my friends with iphone 5's are jealous as hell.
Pros Everything... seriously, everything.
Cons This user was unable to identify a single con.
Summary Lets start with the most notable feature, the massive screen. This thing is a beauty! The resolution is sharp and clear and the image quality is out of this world when it comes to phones. Everything is so vivid and bold!
Next, the power. This device is more powerful than many laptops out today, and it shows. From the first time you boot this thing, you can instantly recognize how incredibly fast it is. The interface is so liquid smooth you might just find yourself scrolling through homescreens in a trance. Handles tasks like a champ and runs any mobile game you can throw at it without breaking a sweat. I though my Moto Atrix was powerful, this thing has that beat by far.
S Pen. I never thought I'd be one of those guys that uses a stylus. What Samsung has done with this device is genius. The airview feature is extremely useful. The accuracy of the stylus is impeccable! My handwriting actually looks good on an electronic device for once!
Sound quality - This came as a huge surprise and not many people mention it. The sound that comes from this devices speaker is pristine and rich. Yes it's a mobile device and it's certainly not a Bose system, but for what it is, it is definitely worth noting.
Build quality - The construction of the Note 2 is outstanding. It is an all plastic body but it feels very solid. No creaking or cheap plastic noises when holding it. Overall it feels extremely well-built while still maintaining a bit of sophisticated delicacy due to it's thinness and larger dimensions. When you hold this phone, you know you're holding onto something special.
Size - For many this may seem like a con but I believe if anyone gives this phone 1 day, they'll be used to the size and loving it. I wasn't phased by the size at first though I could sense its largeness. After a day I was used to it and any other phone just seems too small. I tried to use my Atrix 4g and it felt like a little toy.
I say with absolute confidence that this is the best mass-produced, consumer-level smartphone that money can currently buy. HTC has some comparable models but they don't really come close when you dig a bit deeper. The iPhone has lacked innovation for the past few generations and this device, without a doubt, blows iphone5 out of the water. The Galaxy Note 2 is worth every single penny.
Pros - Screen Size
- Speed (no lag)
- Plethora of features
- Jelly Bean
- Verizon LTE Network
Cons - Apple's Siri is better than S-Voice
- Plastic edges show scuff marks easily
- Power button placement
Summary Let me first say that I had Verizon's iPhone 5 before this Note 2. I was afraid I would miss the iOS environment and the Apple App Store, however, this is not the case. I have had many phones over the past few years (iPhone 3G, Droid 3, Droid Razr Maxx, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 to name a few) and I have to say this is the best phone I've ever had!
The main reason I kept sticking with Apple products was the disappointment with the lag of Android. So far (2 weeks in), I have had ZERO lag on the Note 2 (Verizon). I waited for the iPhone 5 and purchased it, but ultimately, I was very disappointed in the lack of improvements iOS has made over the last 5+ years. Apple used to be innovators and now it seems they are playing catch-up (especially in the features and screen size department).
In short, I am very pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend this phone to any iPhone users on the fence (not knowing whether to make the Android switch or not). If you take the leap...you will not regret your decision.
Pros Fast, productive, phenomenal software, superb hardware, lightning fast, intuitive, practical, professional, sexy.
Cons Speaker is not as powerful as I expected (my last two business phones had very powerful noise cancelling speakerphones).
Summary I started out with Casio Boss 20k in 1980's; then palm, then iPaq, etc -- this is the phone I've always dreamed of. I sold my 7" tablet -- now everything is consolidated. I bought it for the large screen... to my shock that's my least favorite think about it after playing with it for a few weeks. This thing just works right. Intuitive, productive, efficient, beautiful. It's impossible to explain the perfection and chemistry. I'm done with iPhone... this is the pinnacle of hardware and software experience and perfection. You need to buy one and play with it for a couple week in order to understand. Makes iPhone seem likes a child's toy.
