"Almost there... but for $45/ month extra, no thanks"
Pros: Great size and feel.
Decent touchscreen experience.
Excellent features.Cons: Mandatory data plan
Summary: So I ordered the Omnia by phone a day before its official release and got it today. I had held out to get Wifi since the Storm fumbled on that. I was stoked, and reviewing my receipt, when I say a mysterious PDA/Smartphone unlimited charge for $44.99. Now, I hadn't agreed to that, and I specifically asked the Rep if I had to change my plan at all; she said nope. A few calls to Verizon later, I'm packing this baby up and sending her back. I just need something that syncs with Outlook, and the camera, wifi, and multimedia features, but I don't need their data plan. "Encouraging" a data plan and Requiring one are 2 different things. I made sure that they were willing to say "to get a phone w/ pda functionality, I will have to go with a different carrier." Couldn't believe they were ok with that.
Screen needs to be higher resolution
Still not Iphone smooth despite hardware specs
That aside, the phone is pretty good, but it's still got pauses between touches and responses; sometimes long ones. The haptic feedback is there sometimes, but sometimes you're left guessing. I don't like Macs but, darn it, how can the Iphone be so smooth, and Windows Mobile be so darn slow and stuttered? I really wanted to like this thing.
Oh well, guess I'm going back to watching the touchscreen folks from the sidelines. give me a call when I can do what I want with the phone I buy, Verizon.

Actually you only need the $29.99 data plan, the $45 is the corporate plan. Don't let the Verizon people rip you off, they tried to tell me the same thing, but customer service set them straight.
