Pros it makes phone calls
it has "chat" texting
Cons doesn't get the well of service
it feels cheapily made
restarts itself randomly
one vibration setting (no short, medium, or long vibe)
you can't review your pictures fullscreen
the picture quality is very poor (don't even bother with the video)
Summary I bought this phone because it has a full qwerty keyboard that slides out, and because its almost identical to my previous phone (LG Rumor). but the truth is, i hardly ever use the qwerty (only when the symbol i want isn't on the keypad). ..i just really regret buying it
"slow slow slow"on by t_d_scooter
Pros It is easy to use and the camera is ok
Cons it is so slow when i text the space button on the outside display is very slow and doesnt text quickly. Although you can add words into the T9 setting it places them at the top of your list
Summary This phone is easy to use but texting is very slow and needless to say SUCKS! The internal keyboard is layed out poorly and I have had many many problems with the software. It is constantly dialing my contacts when the key pad is locked it is slow and it has a memory list selector as in saying when you go to the menu instead of going to a default it goes to the last thing you were in. I would NOT recommend this phone for anyone looking for a full qwerty key board. Its laid out poorly and the shorcuts are horrible. The two menu could use something else other than pacman and toneroom for they are very useless. Unlocking the phone is a pain and you can't change any of the settings to customize to your liking. I switched to this phone from Verizon and I had the LG Octane which is a much much better phone. Over all i would not recommend this phone for anyone and if you are looking to buy this phone dont because when you start having problems like i did, which everyone i know that has this phone has the same problems, the company US Cellular tells you they havent had any software issues and you are stuck with the phone. So if you want a good phone do not buy this one!
Pros Keyboard is acceptable.
Cons Alarm keeps going forever, well, until the battery dies. No way to change colors or fonts.
Pros solid body and pretty good battery life.
Cons keyboard is layed out very poorly for texting. the center button is small for fingers. Also there is no message button, you must select a contact then select options and then scroll through a list of which type of message you want to send, txt, pic, video
Summary This is a poorly designed phone when it comes to easy of use
Pros Well designed/familiar QWERTY keyboard
Camera is relatively good
Phone is quite durable, has withstood multiple drops onto concrete/hard surfaces
Software Appearance is nice
The inbox capacity is more than many other phones
Seems to have good signal even
Cons Consistent software glitches, even with correctly made phones
The camera is set to landscape, which is different and can not be changed
The front screen rarely lights unless many buttons pressed, again not a defective phone, (checking time is not as quick
Summary I really like the overall design of the phone. I find the keyboard to be just about perfect for me, and it seems to be the same basic keyboard as many other slide-out QWERTY keyboards. The camera isn't anything outstanding, but considering it is a phone, and not a smart phone, it has surpassed my expectations. Likewise, the inbox can hold approximately 400 messages, which is more than the average non-smart phone holds. The overall appearance of the software is nice, but the functions of the software leave a lot to be desired, and probably shouldn't be an issue for the price of the phone. The phone seems to have software glitches at least every other day, which may not seem bad, but it can be quite inconvenient if you are trying to do something quickly. The glitches I am aware of are; the buttons will start randomly pressing, and the only way to make it stop is to remove the back and remove the battery and than turn the phone back on. It will also sometimes seem to be unresponsive to any buttons pressed, but then all of the sudden the buttons will start randomly triggering and you again, have to remove the battery. I haven't ever heard of any other phone having as many software glitches as this one, and it shouldn't be too much to ask for there to not be any software glitches. You may be thinking that I just have a defective phone, but I went to trade the first phone of this model in after about 7 days of having it, as I was finding the glitches to be annoying. After having my new phone of the same model for about 4 hours, it did the same glitch that I had been experienced with my last phone of the model. Also, if you want to check the time, often you have to press multiple buttons to finally get the backlight to activate so that you can see the time, which isn't normal among phones, and is an inconvenience often times. (I don't mind this as much because I am grateful just to have a phone and such, but I can see it being irritating to other people.) The camera is also set so that in order for a photo to be straight up and down without the keyboard being slid out, you have to take the picture holding the phone horizontally. I guess this isn't really too big of a con, but it's just very unorthodox and leaves me puzzled as to the point of it. Lastly, there is a shortcut in the main menu for PacMan, which I find to lack a purpose, as you have to buy PacMan after playing 3 times, and the button would probably be better used as a shortcut for something else.
So, to summarize this monotonous wall of text, I wish I would have thought to read some reviews and trade the phone in for a different model, rather than getting the same model. There are a lot of good things about all aspects of this phone, and it would be a great phone if Samsung would just rewrite the software for the phone so that it didn't glitch so often. (I don't think I've ever had more than 2 or 3 glitches with any of the 3 phones I had before this one.) So, if you are considering buying the Samsung Profile, I personally would advise looking for another phone that is similar, but has software that doesn't bug out so much. If you really really want to get this phone, possibly wait to see if the software is fixed anytime soon to get it.
