"Riddled with bugs" on by Shig2k1
Pros: Really nice styling
Cons: Crap talk/standby time
Summary: Aside from the repeated crashing, here's some bugs I've noticed which are completely driving me spare:
My phone was purchased in Hong Kong due to a shortage in the UK
1. GPRS doesn't work (O2 UK)
2. Even though I've selected English as the language, cantonese and mandarine text input options remain. If I try to use the AWFUL handwriting recognition and accidentally switch to cantonese, it overrides the UK keyboard input and UK characters won't work.
3. My time zones keep switching, as a result the alarm that's supposed to wake me up gets reset and doesn't go back to it's original time: thanks UIQ3, for making me up a 1:45pm not 6:45am.
4. 3g and MP4 video playback is rubbish; takes about 3 minutes to start playing and stutters all the time.
5. MP3 ordering by NAME not track number; no album art; seems to mess up on VBR encoded mp3.
6. Java apps have uninstalled themselves after removing M2 card and putting in again.
7. SMS often thinks that a 60 char text will take 3 messages to send; and then sends even though I say NO do not send.
8. Changing the theme doesn't always result in all elements of the theme being changed.
9. Phone stops playing music if I leave the music player without going through task manager.
None of these render the phone unusable, just make it unreliable and not worth the money I paid for it. -
"New Product Frustrations" on by kdpysher
Pros: Good size, Great screen, Touch screen is awesome even for my big fingers, call clarity, PIM functions, Sony Ericsson interface is always superb
Cons: New Product with no US support yet, VPN not available yet, buggy wrt PC connection and tends to lock up
Summary: I have been looking for a smart phone that has the form factor of a Razr with the superb user interface and friendliness of the Sony Ericsson line. Having used both a SE T630 and various models of the Motorola Razr' this is the closest product that meets my expectations. Although since it is a new product, the Sony Ericsson support via their web page is still not very populated. Additionally you must log on to one of the European sites within SE to find support. Keyboard takes some time to train your fingers for accuracy, but eventually you will become efficient. The on-screen text recognition is on par with any Palm device I have used and in my opinion the predictive text is an order of magnitude above the Palm add-on functions that I have used. Although a tri-band phone, I have not had very many problems with connectivity even in some rural areas within California as this is typically where the 850 frequency range comes in handy. I have synch’d with Microsoft Outlook with only minor difficulty. And have been able to surf the net easily, receive personal email via multiple accounts without issue. However the supposedly free VPN software that would allow me to connect to my company email is currently non-existent and I have not been able to get a response from SE on where or when it will be available. In fact it was only through some random UK user forum that I found out the VPN is not yet available. Overall I think SE will deliver the necessary updates to improve this phone and I intend to keep it based on that expectation as I think it will eventually surpass my performance expectations.

"Great phone, obvious drawbacks read here below" on by Anan Al Wanni
Pros: 3 ways to navigate through the phone, using the touch screen, the scroll button on the side and the keys. This is a great features so you dont need to re-position the phone in your hands.
Cons: Wifi is a major draw back for this phone, I can understand the lack of camera being a business-like phone but not the accessibility to the world.
Summary: This is phone is so slim that you can just slip in your inside suite pocket. The screen size is enough and it is quite bright and clear especially when viewing pictures taken from digital cameras. When using themes it will change the whole user experience. Like almost any SE phone, at the beginning you need to setup all the settings as per your need but once you do this, it becomes fantastic.
Syncing with Outlook contacts goes like a breeze.
My bad experience with this phone comes when compared with Nokia E61. The loud speaker performs poorly than in the E61, the screen gets dirty faster and the lack of wi-fi sometimes could be a burden.
Other than that I love two sided buttons and multi setting for the alarms.
I would go for SE again but they need to keep their phones fully loaded. -
"touch screen bliss, most responsive of all phones" on by jdbuilds
Pros: fast, best resolution screen, period!! best speaker too
Cons: no camera yet, puss action on scroll a little stiff
Summary: This is my first review. Only because I've ran out of people to tell how great this phone works. I've tried every smart phone on the market. This m600i rivals all of them. Make the purchase, you won't be disapointed and maybe Sony will react with a camera model!!!!!!!!!! I've heard people having a hard time w/ no toggle. Take an hour to play with the dual ******* keyboard and you won't miss it anymore.
Updated
By the way, this smart phone fits in your pocket easly. -
"No bugs with new FW" on by Telecom71
Pros: Versatile, Cost Effective, Compact
Cons: Menus too slow
Summary: No bugs when you download a newer version from the Sony Ericsson portal.
I use this phone for business use (mainly calendar sync with my Outlook) and with additional 1 Gig Memory, I store my MP3 tracks. Good design and it is also compact. The only problem is response time. I don't plan to replace it until it breaks.
