"New Product Frustrations"
Pros: Good size, Great screen, Touch screen is awesome even for my big fingers, call clarity, PIM functions, Sony Ericsson interface is always superb
Cons: New Product with no US support yet, VPN not available yet, buggy wrt PC connection and tends to lock up
Summary: I have been looking for a smart phone that has the form factor of a Razr with the superb user interface and friendliness of the Sony Ericsson line. Having used both a SE T630 and various models of the Motorola Razr' this is the closest product that meets my expectations. Although since it is a new product, the Sony Ericsson support via their web page is still not very populated. Additionally you must log on to one of the European sites within SE to find support. Keyboard takes some time to train your fingers for accuracy, but eventually you will become efficient. The on-screen text recognition is on par with any Palm device I have used and in my opinion the predictive text is an order of magnitude above the Palm add-on functions that I have used. Although a tri-band phone, I have not had very many problems with connectivity even in some rural areas within California as this is typically where the 850 frequency range comes in handy. I have synch?d with Microsoft Outlook with only minor difficulty. And have been able to surf the net easily, receive personal email via multiple accounts without issue. However the supposedly free VPN software that would allow me to connect to my company email is currently non-existent and I have not been able to get a response from SE on where or when it will be available. In fact it was only through some random UK user forum that I found out the VPN is not yet available. Overall I think SE will deliver the necessary updates to improve this phone and I intend to keep it based on that expectation as I think it will eventually surpass my performance expectations.

The Nokia E61 has the Wi-Fi, is quad-band, doesn't crash, and has a full QWERTY keyboard, and everything else is the same (OS, battery life, no camera, etc) yet CNET editors gave it a 7.3, and the M600i got a 7.7. I'm a big fan of Sony Ericsson, but it's not fair to do unjustice to Nokia.
