"Great phone for teens" on by patdavon
Pros: Easy to hold once I bought a gel case ($2 off Ebay) Takes very good photos, nice screen.
Cons: NO APPS. No ability to edit documents despite paying for aftermarket software. This device is limited to being a nice phone, camera, web surfer as few other apps are available. Phone is very slippery to hold without a case resulting in lots of droppin
Summary: Although it is a Symbian phone, you can't access the only decent symbian store (Ovi) and as a result there is very little you can do with this phone. It is not a smartphone. It is a very good cell phone but does not qualify as a smartphone at all. Buy it for your 15 year old, she will love you for it. Very nice screen. NIce photos. Nice screens for customizing your favourites etc. MInimal organizer features but no way does this compare to my earlier Palm Centro for Apps and PDA features. I can't even get an app to do my grocery list or to do list well. There are many better choices.

"The Sony Ericsson Vivaz is a beautiful phone." on by Ssjpenguin
Pros: The Sony Ericsson Vivaz is a beautiful phone. The vivaz has a great desing and great home screen, some great downloadable software & a 3D chip for Games that most Nokia s60v5 phones cant handle. The Camere's amazing with HD recording and 8mp Camera!
Cons: This phones only let down is the software. Symbian is developed by Nokia so you can blame them. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Hardware is amazing but the software lets it down. While there are numerous downloads to fix it (e.g SPB Shell) it's the only con.
Summary: The negative reviews for the Sony Ericsson Vivaz should not put you off buying the phone. It is a great piece of hardware and you get what you pay for. That's the main thing people forget, you get what you pay for. If you want the ultimate smart phone you have to pay the ultimate price... Well you don't have to die but you know what I mean. Anyway, I really recommend the Sony Ericsson Vivaz to anyone getting a smart phone for the sake of getting a smart phone.

"Sony should hang this one on its Wall of Shame." on by TantMieux
Pros: The phone offers adequate phone quality for the caller and the receiver. As for physical features, its bluish-black color and slightly curved shape gives it a contemporary, stylish appearance.
Cons: Tiny keys do not easily respond to touch.
Failure to clear the keypad from screen after placing a call results in poor call quality.
Camera's "light" feature provides inadequate illumination for night photography.Summary: Fails to make the grade. Sony should flunk this model quickly and pretend it never happened.

"Without question the worst phone I have owned" on by betterlucknexttimesony
Pros: Little if anything
Cons: Most if not everything! Touch screen response, small on-screen keys, a stylis with no place to go, software is horible, amazingly slow, freezes, shuts down on its own, does not charge correctly, does not hold a charge, does not lock properly, unlocks itse
Summary: My wife bought this phone because we were so impressed with our past Sony phones. They were very durable and functioned well. Then she gave it to me and bought a $15 gophone because she did not like it. When my Samsung Solstice (A great phone) took a bath I began using the Sony. I can see why she gave it up. I have had nothing but trouble with this phone. The primary concern has been software bugs, its slow speed and the fact that it is constantly shutting down on its own or freezing. The touchscreen keyboard (even horizontally) is a joke as well. Even free this phone is not worth having. My new go phone is in the mail and I am happily counting the days for its delivery. Better luck next time Sony.
