"Not a long term phone... not that any are"
on by sebrinabPros I have never had a droid phone or an iphone so please keep that in mind. To me the screen, though small, is great. Graphics are bright. Slide works great. Daytime pictures are decent. Light. Good call quality.
Cons Recently stopped recording missed calls from unknown #s, finicky about how it is positioned when charging, for a non smart phone battery sucks, freezes
Summary The specific freeze that makes me throw the phone on a daily basis (no I didn't do this before) is I make a call to a new number and if I have to interact with a messaging system (you know dial 1 for english) it will freeze and I will miss the prompt. My temporary fix to the freeze until I qualify for a free phone is that I save the number and somehow that prevents the freeze. is that weird?

"Poor-Man's I-Pod! The phone is Aces..."
on by animalcollectivePros It's a Phone/Camera/Walkman Radio
Cons The service w/ AT&T isn't always ideal.
Summary This phone is fierce. The features themselves, are worth the price of the phone. The phone after the mail-in rebate is around $35....that's a deal!
My favorite part is that you can actually put your own music on this sweet little device via USB for free, and then play them back on the mini speakers like a radio (this is really sweet, esp. when you want more than one friend to hear the latest song you've downloaded) or thru the headphones. Now granted you can't hold that many tunes w/ the memory card they give you (around 50-60 songs), but still....that's not the main purpose of the phone. It's a very cool incentive.
The camera/recording quality is pretty decent for a phone...you can record songs or videos and use them as ring tones. It's been very entertaining to use. (Check out Flight of the Conchords Episode 1 where Jermaine is singing "You're So Beautiful....You could be a waitress" - it makes a great ring tone!)
The fitness features like the pedometer, and the running/walking timer is also nice to have in handy. I've been using this phone primarily now when I go on a run. It's an essential accessory while you're working out:Fitness Manager/MP3 player /Phone.
And let's not forgot the Radio feature....now I know public radio is now pretty much all around lame (no more Ron & Fez or Howard), but it comes in handy when you want to hear a play for a game or you decide to tune into the news or a cool live concert on NPR.
The battery life could be a little longer...but that's if you use the media player all the time like I do. Internet access is moderate speed, and you're able to browse easily, but I haven't dabbled too much with it (my main use is for movie times and directions).
The service is fairly decent, but I am tired of seeing Ads posted in certain places promoting that AT&T now have more coverage everywhere, yet I'm not able to use my sweet phone in that area....kind of lame.
But I do get through eventually, and I haven't lost any connection during a conversation just yet.
Overall, it is your Poor-Man's I-PHONE.....and I love it....it's $35! Come on now.
ooh, and you can play Pac-Man and Mrs. Pac-Man! -that honestly sold me. -
"Cool Mini Walkman!"
on by sonmorkPros Good Size Mini Walkman
Cons Battery drain fast if you play music all day; Key pads is too small
Summary The white Color is not Bad, well it look like light gray. The reason I bought white color because it come with 256 MB memory stick duo with adapter. Otherwise, I have spent more hundred dollars for internal memory and adapter. The Battery is drain fast if you turn the screen saver "on" all the time or play music or Brightness to 100%.

"w580i great color and style but huge flaw"
on by misskaybeePros slim style, bigger screen, great sound
Cons can not use your own mp3 music as ring tone or contact
Summary I have had sony ericson phones before and I love them but this one had a big problem. you couldn't use your downloaded music as ring tone or contact ring tone. I even tried to look online to see if there's a way but it lead me in circles. I'm thinking of buying a new phone and returning the w580i and getting something else
