"Shunning the iphone? This phone's for you!"4.5 starson by edynamic
Pros: Well thought out; clever design and the 'open' approach which Android allows, make for an alternative to the slavish inducing, overpriced Apple products.
Superior display screen and rich sound make it a novel 'cinema in your pocket'.
Cons: The "no 3.5 jack" is a red herring: Spend around 1 £/$ for a mini adapter you can buy anywhere on-line.
The real problem is with the camera: Spend a bit more time and money on this. Still and video photography is okayish but no flash is a big no!
Summary: I've had this phone since launch in the UK. (HTC Magic), and I'm still finding it to be fresh and fun. There are many new apps launching each day and lots of them are free. Don't get too hung up on the lack of the phone's 'features' as there are lots of skilled developers out there, coming up with workarounds. For example, the myth that the device can't read MS Office files or pdf's; you can purchase an app which does this effortlessly. The world of Android is not rigid or inflexible... it's zany, bendy!
I was worried that I was downgrading too sharply when switching over from my Nokia N95 8Gb. True, I miss the camera photo and video features, but I feel I've moved on from the staid old Nokia world. I'm an Android pioneer, with new fields (apps at least), to explore each day.
