"From Blackberry to Treo and Verizon to T-Mobile!"5.0 starson by ashtona74
Pros: Wifi, Android OS, Android Market, IM, Call Quality.
Cons: Task management is lacking and I do not like how everytime I back out of an app, it takes me to the center screen. But these are extremely minor annoynaces that can be overlooked when you realize the power of this device.
Summary: Through the years, a majority of that with Verizon Wireless, I have come to expect a few things from my devices. The most important of which are e-mail, web, IM/text and a market that keeps my interest for longer than a week. The Android Market with it's open source delivers in spades. There are endless possibilities from games to news and weather to financial apps to pour over daily and with the OS being in it's infancy, we can only expect this to expand with time.
The OS functions smoothly. The chat notifications that keep me from having to back out of apps to see texts is a nice touch as well. I wish however that the OS would manage tasks better without my intervention, but I assume the Android team is aware of this.
Call quality is amazing. I have yet to drop a call whereas on my Storm, this was a regular occurance. I would drop 2 out of every 5 calls on my Storm and with the MT, not a single one yet. Voices are crystal clear whereas on the Storm, they were garbled and choppy.
My Gmail setup was a breeze and now have all my other e-mail clients auto-forwarding to my Gmail account.
Web browsing, unlike my other devices, has been incredible. It is fast loading and I can even sign into my bank sites whereas on past devices, it would error out or just simply fail to load. The zoom is great for this kind of browsing as well.
Overall, this is by far the best device I have owned to date. It does everything I want and more. T-Mobile's network has been fantastic. Where I would get 1 bar in my condo, I now get at least 3 on 3G or full on EDGE. My Verizon account has been cancelled and I will never look back. As for the beloved iPhone that CNET loves to compare this device too, AT&T can keep it. Any device that wants me to ship it out for battery replacement is no device for me.
GET this phone! If you were a Blackberry Storm user or a Palm user, you will be blown away.
