"It's my best friend!"
4.5 starson by noob001Pros: 1 GHz 2nd gen snapdragon and 768 mb of ram make this phone fastttt. It feels nice in my hand and the design is awesome. The screen is sharp and bright. The camera is the best I've used so far and the FFC is cool (even though i don't use it). ANDROID!
Cons: Flash is a little choppy in the browser. The speaker is pretty bad and I won't ever turn it to maximum ever again... This is a personal problem, but I always get EDGE and rarely HSPA or HSPA+ at my house. Battery life is ok..
Summary: This phone is alot better than my previous MyTouch 3g (obviously). This time, my phone is really fast and loads a web page in under a minute. It actually loads in under 10 seconds most of the time. Apps and games launch instantly and there's no lag at all, even in the intensive games like Racing Thunder or Speedx 3d. At first, I used task killers every time I closed an app. Now, I don't use task killers at all. The 768 mb of ram is more than enough to handle some apps running in the background.
The design is really cool. The chrome thingy runs around the front of the phone and separates the screen from the colorful back side. The metallic battery door makes it feel tough and is fun to take off and put on. I like the weight of the phone. Seriously, what is a couple more grams really going to do? Make you plummet into the center of the earth? No. It makes it harder for the phone to slip out of my hand.
The screen is pretty awesome. After seeing the jaw-dropping retina display of the iPhone 4, I thought the screen would be bad. It isn't. The screen is really sharp and you can barely see individual pixels if you hold it about 2 inches away from your face. I never use auto-brightness because 30% is enough to see it in the sun and is extremely bright in a dark place.
The camera is the best that I've used. Although, I've only had a 2007 Sidekick LX (eww), a MyTouch 3g, and this. It comes with lots of effects, zoom that still allows you not show pixels, and a nice LED flash for taking pictures and for a flashlight. One thing though is that solid colors seem to have these rainbow dots popping up all over, but I don't know if that's how it is with all phones. The front-facing camera is nice feature. This girl thought that it was a mirror, haha!
The flash player is a little choppy. For example, when there's flash playing like an advertisement and I scroll, it doesn't really move with the page. The content doesn't move too smoothly, but it's manageable. I don't like the 1/8 of an inch bar thingy at the bottom where you move the cursor thing to skip forward or back when playing flash videos.
The speaker is really nasty... Don't even try to play music on maximum volume...
The HSPA+ speeds are really fast for me.. when I actually get them. I've gotten 4 bars with the H symbol once. At my house, the average is 2 bars with EDGE. So, I turn on wifi, but sometimes it doesn't connect so I have to restart the router :(. Also, things like loading a web page, syncing mail, or updating the weather don't work until the down arrow (I'm guessing that means download-something) lights up, which takes about 10 seconds (Again, I don't know if it's just me or if this happens on all phones.)
The battery life on this phone lasts pretty long.. if the screen is off, data connection is off, and the CPU is underclocked to 245 min and 368 max. Usually when I play flash content and browse on the web for about an hour, 100% goes down to 66%. On an average school day, my phone is unplugged at 6:20 and has about 30% left at the end of the day. Of course, pretty much everything is off from 7:25 to 2:45. So the battery life isn't the greatest, but it can handle a day's use.
Overall, this phone is awesome. Android 2.2 is my favorite OS with all its sexy features and customization. It beats the iPhone 4 at everything! (except for apps, screen?, iTunes, and sexiness) For once, I'm glad to be on T-Mobile and to not have an obsolete phone after a month of use.
BUY IT BEFORE SOMETHING NEW COMES OUT!!!
