"The phone is monumental, however...."4.5 starson by indiantechie
Pros: The screen is big, spacious and beautiful, it's thin, and has the feel of a REALLY premium design, Battery life seems decent, plus it gives yet another amazing choice to t-mobile customers
Cons: the UI seems kind of weird ,and while the "plastic and steel" design is really nice and has the feeling of being a quality device it's nothing new ,Genius buttons is weird, it would be better if you could choose between voice search and typing it in
Summary: This phone is easily a contender for top 5 smartphones with its gret screen big but not too big screen , a front facing camera, being extremely thin and HSPA+ speeds, plus it just looks sexy, one of my quirks was that the UI was qierd but on my friends MyTouch Slide he had the option of using HTC Sense as his default skin and i hope that transfers over here , the design is nothing new and is starting to become boring)at least for me,) even though it is one of the more premium and higher end devices out there plus the genius button's mandatory requirement for having to use voice search is annoying, because while not having to type is good the only thing ill really use that for is GPS (why can't you just type in what you want to search for),and even though cnet said they had problems with video chat i had seemed to have no problem's ,but other than that this phone is easily amazing or monumental, or a beast or however else you describe a top of the line device.I just realized the how bad my bottom line is so here?s a update, the thing is while this device might, have some irritations, they are nothing compared to the pro's, one of my quirks was the fact that the weird, but however my friends MyTouch slide had the option to use HTC Sense as his default skin, so I?m hoping it will transfer over to this device too, however even if it doesn?t,I?m 100 percent sure you can get used to the UI, then another thing was that the device was boring however no matter how boring it's still very sexy and premium, then another thing was that genius buttons mandatory voice search was irritating when I wanted to just type it in, but that's nothing big enough to be a deal breaker and i think that there is an option for typing it in, and while Cnet?s model had video chat problems i experienced nothing of the sort. Even though it might have some quirks they are easily solved or nothing of too much weight, SO this phone easily deserves the "Awesome Phone" award!

Updated on Nov 2, 2010One more thing that I just realized , I actually sat down with a black version instead of a white version , and I realized what I perceived as boring was a simple deceiving of color, I saw just high quality the phone compared to the previous models, which now feel plasticky, plus the pictures and the dummy phone were of the white model and in my eyes black gray and white just DIDNT GO TOGETHER , so one of my quirks that the design felt boring was simply a deceiving to my eyes through a color scheme that didn?t go together(to me), so that makes this phone even better!
Updated on Nov 6, 2010Theres one more thing, i have been extensively comparing G2 this phone, and i simply can't find a reason to support one or the other. while the G2 does have a slide out keyboard and is running stock ui, but the Mytouch does give the option of using HTC sense as your default, unforunately its not pure HTC Sense, and there is still some of tmo's influence. found no problem with using the virtual keyboard, however there is a slight learning curve whenever using a virtual keyboard, but there is a learning curve to almost everything. , on the oter hand, the mytouch comes with a speedier processor, and a front facing camera plus it has tethering and hotspot capabilities. and it has a slightly bigger screen., So as you can see there are easily Pro's and Con's to both phones, and i will try and compare them, if i may suggest a prizefight between the myTouch 4G and G2, then it might solve a lot of tmo customers prblems.
