"Not impressed...yet."
2.5 starson by SimplyScottyPros: Great speed, camera works amazingly well especially with the flash, the hardware and design are solid and sharp looking, there is a restart option, the genius button is fun to play with, text and call over WiFi is an awesome feature for the phone.
Cons: The speaker could be a little better (or maybe just on the front of the phone instead of on the back), and T-mobile could give me one that's not damaged right out of the box. I've gone through two of these phones already in less than a week.
Summary: My issue is probably more with the two phones I've had to turn back into T-mobile because they had issues. The first one kept resetting itself constantly and I was having a ton of network issues (wifi and t mobile network, non of which were a problem with my G1). The second phone would not allow me to send MMS messages (pictures, videos, large text etc) at all! And the tactile feedback made a horrible noise and got worse over the two days that I had this phone (sounded like it was about to burn out). I talked with technical support both times and they came to the conclusion that the phones were definitely defective. So, hopefully the third phone will be the one!!
The phone is probably great otherwise...It moves super quickly, the swype feature makes the fact that the phone has no physical keyboard a non issue for me (swype works way better than I had anticipated). The phone itself looks cool and feels solid. It comes pre-loaded with useless junk like trial versions of games that you can't get rid of, but hey, what new phone or computer doesn't these days. All in all, I would recommend it...I think...if I have another "issue" phone, I'm certainly going to find an alternative phone!
AND A TIP: I bought my phone through a t-mobile store in the mall, and they are making me do a mail in rebate to get $50 bucks back to make the phone $199. Check out other stores that carry t-mobile first because you can get it with an instant rebate to make it $199 instead of having to do the stupid mail in one. I didn't realize this before I bought it directly through T-Mobile.
