"Don't listen to the Negative Reviews; they fulla it!"
on by sunilsoniaPros Sleek Design, Voice Command for All Features on the Phone, 2x the Memory w.r.t. the Wing and Dash from T-Mobile
Cons No Touch Screen, Considering T-Mobile is now getting to 3G it would have been a bonus to have that capability
Summary People, it's time to get with the program and RTFM (Read the $%^&in Manual) for once. More than a handful of things listed by the others on this board as "Cons" are entirely not accurate.
Examples:
1. Can't Slide the phone shut to end a call (Clearly someone does not know where in WM6 to locate this setting. This is blatantly clear)
2. Call quality sucks OR I can bearly hear the person on the other end OR I cannot hear what the other person is saying, etc (Hello! Every figure to take the frikkin' plastic that wraps around the ear piece at the top of the phone? And what about may be raising the volume key?)
3. The Phone occasionally freezes or slows down to a crwaling halt (People, this is a Windows Mobile Phone and has a WINDOWS OS preloaded on it. Like on a PC that you may have at home or at work, you need to go to the TASK MANAGER and STOP ANY OR ALL services that you are not currently in use or needed for use. You need to clear the Cache too in the even that your slowness happens to be while you are online. Common principles that PC User should be aware of in this day and age.)
4. My Battery life absolutely sucks (Well did you even think that your phone Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or Active Sync may be powered on. How about shutting them off when they are not in use, similar concept to the slowness issues above in #3).
5. Cannot turn off the XT9 typing feature (Folks, page 44-45 in the manual please)
If you don't have the phone then don't come on to the boards like this one at Phone Scoop and bash the daylights out of it. Trust me, the proof is in the pudding and these types of reviews become blatantly obvious to someone who has used the phone. This kind of behaviour is commonly seen from Reps outside of T-Mobile from other providers. In all honesty and for what it's worth, those idiots are just jealous that T-Mobile has got the mac daddy of "Fun Smartphones in the current market. That said, get this phone if you have not done so yet, no regrets! -
"Excellent phone beats Razor and iPhone"
on by drodanielPros Great Reception and Easy to Use
Cons Internet slow hard to view
Summary I just purchased the Shadow with Tmobile. After 2+yrs with the Motorola razor I wanted a new phone. After one day I have found the Shadow to be an outstanding phone. Reception is significantly better than the Razor and easy to use. The Tmobile tech transferred all of my 800+ contacts from my Palm E to the Shadow and I am happy. I looked at the iPhone because of the beautiful Internet screen quality but like most phones the Internet is too slow. Several of my patients have the iPhone and most love it but a few have stated that they frequently drop calls with ATT. I am happy with the Shadow; it is probably the best phone I have ever had. The screen is incredible and because I am presbyopic (>40) I can easily see the screen when making calls. The Internet is very slow except on WI-fi but not very useable for any length of time. It will be a long time before cell phones replace computers. I highly recommend the Shadow it is almost as small as the razor but the quality of the reception and ease of use is superior to other phones I have had.

"Not bad but needs upgrades"
on by CherryLaneStationPros Sleek design and Windows Mobile works great
Cons Some strange things that should be fixed
Summary I do like this phone but there are some things I would want to warn users about it: First of all I have to replace it already because the Enter key broke off (?!?) I never had that happen with a phone before and it wasn't from dropping or overuse as this phone is pretty new and I'm not a texter
But it broke off. Also the battery life is dismal. But one of the goofiest things is that there is no headphone slot -- just the one port for headphone (so you have to use their ear buds which I hate) that is also for charging and syncing. That is very annoying. I wonder if they sell a headphone adapter? Anyway, other than that it has good sound quality and images. I don't like the camera, but for quick little pics here and there that you don't need for a quality album, it's fine (though I can never figure out how to zoom). The rotary mouse is worthless (just because the ipod and iphone have it doesn't mean it was a good idea), so I just click. And every once in a while mine will just freeze and I have to remove the battery in order to get it to do anything again. So there are some quirks, as I said. And some sort of cover would be nice. I hate seeing skin oils on that smooth surface all the time. I am constantly cleaning it off. Ick.Updated
I have had many different kinds of cell phones for many years. This is the FIRST TIME I have ever been told that mine makes "pocket calls". I have it set up to lock and to protect against pocket calls, but it still does it. I don't know why cell phone manufacturers put so many buttons on the outside of the phone, especially buttons that can lead to calls!! I only remembered this because I just heard someone saying "hello? hello?" from my purse to find that my phone had called a customer. It happens to my husband a lot, too. A bit embarrassing. Hopefully they will fix these things and come out with a new one because I do like this phone for the most part, but you would think that these elementary problems would have been taken into account. -
"I've owned a lot of phones.. this is by far the best."
on by thatskaterjuan88Pros Everything, except for call volume
Cons Call Volume is low but you get used to it
Summary Easy to use, fully customizable, im not a windows or microsoft fan at all but this actually surprised me. Dont listen to the people saying its a bad phone they dont know what they are talking about. Just make sure you get a 1 GB or larger memory card.

"Great phone, few problems"
on by spongyiqPros looks nice, great camera, microsoft word, powerpoint, excel inclided, internet browsers fast on wifi, nice scroll menu, easy to navigate, loud speaker
Cons lags every so often, cannot delete all text messages at once
Summary The T-Mobile shadow is a great phone with many capabilities. It is a windows based phone with several programs including microsoft office mobile and java. However, call quality is decent (works fine for me). The phone includes a micro SD slot for extra storage room and a nice scroll wheel. Some negative aspects of the phone is its response time, usb connection jack, and messaging capabilities. The usb connection jack for the charger never seems to hold the usb. My usb is always falling off of the phone, so sometimes when i think its charging, its not. The phone is usually pretty fast; however, it lags up sometimes( like most other pc phones do) The messaging is good but its a hassle to view messages u sent, delete them one by one, and then delete the inbox messages one by one.
Overall the T-Mobile shadow is a great phone with slight problems.
