"Dream machine - but needs improvement"

Pros: instant access to email, instant messenger, web browsing, hiplog blog

Cons: no speaker phone, no built-in camera, no javascript or flash
Summary: First of all, T-mobile has horrible reception. I have a lot of trouble in San Francisco and when I travel outside of major metro areas, I usually have no signal at all.
However, the sidekick is my lifeline. I can't live without it. I check my email, look up restaurant reviews, addresses when I get lost, and use the calendar. my boyfriend borrows it to play games. I download my gmail, my work email, my school email, and have my tmail. I organize it into folders etc.
make sure that you buy a screen protector bc the screen gets damaged quickly. Radioshack sells camcorder screen protectors that are perfect for the sidekick. you get several for $7.99. The other downside is that the sidekick doesn't fit into a normal cell phone case so if you don't fork out $ for the tmobile sidekick case, you will scratch up the screen while the thing bangs around in your pocket or purse.
i highly recommend the new sidekick ii. Although i had the first sidekick & sidekick color for more than three years, I just got ii for my boyfriend and now I'm jealous! the speaker phone is awesome.
FYI - plantronics headsets work great with this phone.
One more downside- the browser doesn't display javascript or flash. a lot of sites these days are using those technologies so i'm finding that I cannot view more and more websites. danger really needs to work on this!!!
finally, your phone probably has a replacement policy and tmobile is good about sending out replacements. however, they are normally refurbished replacements. one time, i went through 6 refurbed replacements that each had something wrong with them (alphabet key not working, pixels corrupted on screen etc.) before they send me a good one (perhaps the last one was new?).
oh- i forgot- you get a free photo blog on www.hiplog.com included!!
