Pros Selection ok
Cons Often does not play at all!
Helpdesk unable to resolve situation
Summary The service is terrible. I've had the whole family waiting to watch a movie, and had to abandon after half on hour with the helpdesk. This is on a new Samsung TV that plays Netflex flawlessly. I will avoid Amazon Instant Video in the future.
Pros No commercial advertisements.
Cons 1. 250% increase in bandwidth over Hulu for same stream.
2. Muddier video than hulu
Summary See this youtube video review of Amazon Prime Streaming Video for more detail:
Pros Very user friendly, Resume watching button works across devices and remembers where you left off, basically just a good product that Prime members can take advantage of and I highly recommend it.
Cons I don't use the Ipad as often as the TV, but it does limit your options, I suspect because the folks at Apple are ******, and Heaven forbid Amazon syphoning off that movie money!
Summary Has a great selection, has recommendations, it's very easy to use, the instant video service was a bonus since I'd been an Amazon Prime member for a long time. Works on my Desktop, Laptop, my Logitech Revue, my Xbox, my Ipad, and my Kindle Fire. Works alot better since I've upgraded my router to the Linksys EA4500.
For Example... I watched the Johnny Knoxville West Virginia documentary (jaw-dropping BTW). I began watching it on the TV closest to my kitchen as I was doing the dishes and what not. When I was finished, I exited the app on the Logitech Revue, and walked into the other room closest to my playroom, I searched the film title, and it immediately recognized I had been watching it. I clicked resume and watched another half hour on my Xbox. When I was finished cleaning that room I went upstairs, switched to the Ipad, and watched the rest in bed, without skipping a beat. I am not sure about the other services available, I can ABSOLUTELY vouch for the Amazon Instant Video service.
Pros It was free to download.
Cons Crashes constantly, takes an extremely long time to download a 1-hour show, crashes, stalls, crashes, stalls, etc.
Summary With today's technology, I can't believe that Amazon would allow something to be released that was not polished and up to the standards of their competitors. The only reason I downloaded Instant Video is because I did't think I could find the show I was searching for on iTunes. It took me 45-minutes to finish the last 10-minutes of a show because of all the crashes! So frustrating! Thank goodness I just found my show on iTunes! I know I will not be experiencing the same problems now!

Pros Extra perks of the shipping.
Cons No mobile device support.
Terrible search engine.
No "play next" or queue
Summary Im still in the trial and will not be paying for a membership. The free shipping helps make it bearable, but still not worth it, as that part of amazon prime has tons of its own issues(see below)
As for the videos, its stupid they dont have mobile apps. That is a huge negative.
Furthermore, when watching a seiries.. Say the office. Every time you finish an episode, you have to go find the next episode and play it. There is no "play next" option, there is no, auto play season option.
Finally, when searching the instant video, you are decieved into thinking there are a lot of instant videos available to prime members. False. The majority are available with an extra fee. You have to click on "amazon prime eligible" every time you do a search. EVERY time.
now the review of the perks of the free shipping... items that come up in a search for "items elegable for prime" will be out of stock or more expensive than they appear, so it takes a long time to find a good deal. if you need the items quick it might be worth it, but if not, its likely you can get it elsewhere for the same price, but with slower shipping. There arent many items i need in 2 days.
