No warranty. At all.

Pros: Good selection, ease of use

Cons: Despite its pros, this product/service is to be avoided at all cost: there simply is no warranty whatsoever. With a crash of a hard drive, you are out of luck, however much you can prove that you purchased the song/movie

Review: Typical example of Apple strategy: very user-friendly, easy-to-use product - but no attention whatsoever to true customer satisfaction. Once money is paid, client is on his own - and doesn't have a recourse.

horrible, but the biggest one out there

Pros: the download format

Cons: the copyprotect of the format which limits you to 5 pcs

Review: Ok, this is speaking from experiance, the itunes store is great for finding new music, but horrible for buying music. Its one of the slowest ones out there, and if say your computer dies one day, you would have to buy it all again! I bet you are saying what if i had a back up? well you can only have it on 5 computers (mac and/or pc). And when those 5 computers run out, you are out of luck. Then you have to rebuy all the music. I have had to do this, but before i did, i decided just to buy the cds of it, cause those you can burn unlimited copies of and can store them on unlimited pcs/macs

This is the most retartded music management program ever.

Pros: I has that clean mac look

Cons: Hard to understand, no simple drag and drop

Review: This program is the worst ever. I purchased the 30gig video ipod. I use plenty of file management programs, this is the by far the most confusing. I just want to drop some songs on my ipod, but the default is to load every file of media that I have on my computer. Also, why do I have to update it the Ipod automatically, you put it on maunal and all your options are locked, what the hell? Come on, then it only supports mpeg4 video, I had to get a conversion program just to convert all my video to play on the stupid thing. Its all flash no fun. It looks 10 times better then anything out, but is as functional as a 2 year old trying to build a space shuttle. Mac please allow for simple windows based file management, I bought the Ipod isnt that enough?

iTunes crashes constantly

Pros: Great music player

Cons: Crashes constantly

Review: At first I was excited to use iTunes. But now iTunes crashes continuously on Windows XP. I googled online, but havent found a solution.

Crashes with error "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to shut down"

Other users have been complaining about this problem for the past 2 YEARS!!! I wonder why Apple hasnt fixed the problem yet.

"A superb software"

Pros: It has 1.5 million songs to download!! It's legal! There are cool features like iMixes, Audiobooks, etc.! Once you buy the song it's yours not like the bad subscription services! Albums are cheap!

Cons: You have to pay 99 cents per song; it's kind of high but the quality is never bad.

Review: iTunes and the iTunes Music Store are great products! I love both of them!

User Rating: 9/10

Just what any fan of music wants

Pros: HUGE selection of music and even videos;built inside iTunes Jukebox

Cons: 30 sec. previews still intact on even 40 sec. songs

Review: I think this store IS the defacto standard for music fans.It has over 1.3 million songs on it.It is built into the amazing iTunes jukebox, and is for windows and macs. They have exclusives, and high quality. It is better than napster, real, and microsofts music offerings and even has videos on it.Although, portable player-wise,it only works in the iPod variations' favor, users of this should definately either have an iTunes or an iPod.

Not bad, but could be better

Pros: Sort music and create playlists easily. Tons of music in the iTunes store.

Cons: Burning software is terribly picky, can't convert purcahsed music to MP3. Doesn't integrate with Windows very well.

Review: I never used this software before I got an iPod, but was basically forced to start using it after that. At first I was very reluctant to give up Winamp, which I had used for years and grown to love, but the step up to iTunes was a necessity. After a couple weeks I got used to using it, but I still get angry with some of its features. For one, every time I try to burn a CD I get a new error, and even minor software/hardware changes to your machine can disable the burning capability altogether. You can't burn a CD with music you've imported into iTunes and music you've purchased through the iTunes store -- it's one or the other. The interface is fairly simple to use, but takes up a lot of memory. After playing for a couple hours I have had problems with songs getting garbled and have to shutdown the application and restart to mend the problem. It also takes forever to load when you first open it up. It is easy to sort music by genre, artist, album, etc, and the iTunes store has just about every song you could imagine at a reasonable $0.99 per song or $9.99 for most albums. I'll keep using it because I basically have to, but Apple needs to make some changes to the CD burning end of the application and clean up a few other common problems before this will be a widely accepted Windows program.

In 5 years your songs will still be there.

Pros: Excellent selection. Software works great. Easily imports CD's.

Cons: 99 cents but that is OK.

Review: Napster will cost $900 in 5 years and most people only buy 3-4 songs a month with itunes. In 5 years your songs will still be there, while subscriptions the songs disappear when you stop paying. You rent the music.

Great selection, limited number of supported devices

Pros: Great selection, windows and mac compatible

Cons: Only works on iPods

Review: Would be better if it worked with my Zen, prices are good, but puretracks prices are better and Napster has a subsciption servic and a plugin for my media center

Nice interface, but not my favorite

Pros: Very usable interface, from playlist to minimode to systray icon where you can instantly rate the song.

Pros: very easy to use. best music store, easy file transfer to ipod. definitely best interface, this is awesome. way more usable than wmp10. anyone who uses wmp10 in favor of this seriously doesn't know how much they're hurting themselves.

Cons: sometimes crashes when natively playing cds, aac only works with itunes and real. it only works with ipod, but you really should have an ipod anyway.

Disappointing . . .

Pros: Nice interface, seemingly stable, so-so music selection . . . in the beginning it seemed ok.

Cons: It's a fraud and a sham. Cannot burn a CD because of unknown 4000 error (WINXP), support team sucks, poor sound quality, and unable to convert/record to other formats. Don't be hoodwinked . . . it's not MP3! I want a refund Apple!

Cons: Can't burn CDs. Get error 4000. Please Apple, I beg you fix your horrible software for burning. Your online help sucks for this problem. The ITunes forum sucks (there are 4000+ posts for the 4000 error.....not well organized...the forum website sucks

Good but needs more artists

Pros: The sound quality is great and you can download songs from the iTunes website or from a CD if you like just one song.

Cons: The lack of new artists on the website is a little dissapointing. It wouldn't hurt to add Evanescence or Tony Vincent to the website for downloading.

That's the way to do it, Music Industry!

Pros: Easy interface, you can burn every track on CD for your car or your home stereo, fair price value. DRM is there but not too restrictive for my private use.

Cons: German Music Industry is kinda boycotting the service, trying to push their own service with WMA and rigid DRM.

Pros: FairPlay is not intrusive, and the songs actually will open in other programs if you change the extensions :) Most of the songs I've downloaded transfer faster than p2p, which is good on most connections. You can actually listen to the songs before you

Cons: Some of the 30-second clips are in awkward positions. The selection doesn't quite match p2p, (but it beats the record store). No liner notes. Can't use with non-apple hardware to play songs without converting it in a non-apple program.

Easy to Use, Clean conscience

Pros: I use a Dell at work and watch it crash all day. Wehn I had one at home, I dreaded even using a computer in my leisure time. The iMac changed all that. It's so easy to use and so unlikely to CRASH that I use it for all the fun stuff. I play songs from

Cons: I'd like to see a higher quality music file. Granted, they are better than 128 bit MP3's but most of my MP3's are 320 bitrate.

Simple, Elegant, It's got me buying Music again!

Pros: Easy to use, I haven't seen anything else that comes close. The Price is good. The flexibilty of buying either the album or per song is exactly what I want.

Cons: I might be nice to get linernotes when you purchase an album. The catalogue could be larger, but I'm sure that will happen with time.

The definition of Revolutionary.

Pros: The most easy-to-use online service I've ever experienced. And I mean ALL online services, not just music downloads!! This is what Apple does best. It takes the time to really find out what people would want in a product/service and delivers just that.

Cons: The only reason I gave "Features" a 9 was because there are still a few major artists who won't sign on to the service because they don't like their music to be sold "song-by-song". They feel that the albums they release are intended to be listened to as

Finally, a music service with the consumer in mind.

Pros: East of use - Integrated into iTunes player. AAC format - Better quality than MP3 and more compact. BTW, AAC is MPEG4's audio format. Less restrictive licensing allows you to save music file to multiple Macs and unlimited players. Granted, the service is

What an incredible concept for those of us who are moral

Pros:

Cons:

Review: iTunes and Apple have helped me keep track of my music (over 20 gigs), and with the addition of iTunes Music Store, I can't say enough. Songs download in virtually nanoseconds and sorts automatically. This is a great start for us Mac users and once those other computer users get to see what this is about, they'll love it too...they are just jealous because we have a better thing than them!!!

A great service that still needs more songs

Pros:

Cons:

Review: With the Big 5 on board, the iTunes Music Store has 80% of what I'm looking for. Pretty impressive compared to all other paid services offered these days. Of course, now I want more. I'd like to see more indie labels, oldies, and alternate remixes offered. The Music Store is definitely going somewhere, but it's still a work in progress.

I can't say enough!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: iTunes Music Store is the BEST place to buy music ANYWHERE! I hate pops and skips in mp3 encodings and to my surprise most of those imperfections exist on the CDs I ripped them from. I could pay $13 for a questionably-clean audio CD or $9.99 for a pristine-quality album (absolutely no pops or skips). Of course, I'll spend $9.99 for the better quality audio. Plus, I can only buy the songs I want. Want only 3 songs on an album? Buy the three you want and save $7. Probably the best feature of the service is that it sits right next to the music you already own; no need to open another application. It's almost TOO easy to buy music!

A great way to get only the music you want

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I tried this about a week after it opened. What a great experience. There could be more songs but they will be added over time. It is great to find some old song that I just heard in a movie or on the radio and buy that song by the artist I want and the version I want. I think some of the negative comments may be from windows users who can't use the service yet. Watch them change their itune once it is available for windows.

Easy to use, clean, and fun.

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I disagree with what Shaamus has to say on basically every point. I don't think he has a consistent argument at all. He begins by saying that there is no Windows version, and that no one will buy a mac (this is not supposed to be Mac vs. PC... a windows version is coming... read the article) but then goes on to say that there's no reason for its existence because of the illegal free methods out there. He asked the question "who's going to pay for what they can have for free?" I answer... ME. In the first week, 1 million songs were sold and downloaded on the store, and 2 million total by the 16th day. I've bought about 2 dozen so far. There is a demand for this that will only grow, and not just among the "uneducated." I am intelligent enough to use any number of pirating methods, but I CHOOSE to do it legally on the iTunes store. On my cable internet line, every single one of those songs downloaded within seconds. You're exaggerating about "3 minutes per song." Kazaa, in my experience, rarely gives that sort of consistency. The iTunes music store is the start of something great in terms of legal music distribution... Its easy to use, with consistent quality, and none of the hassle that comes with pirating music the Kazaa way. Online music is here...hardcore piraters need not apply.

Great Service...now bring it to Canada!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: Many friends of mine in the US are using iTunes Music Store and are loving it. In Canada, all we can do is browse...but I can't wait to start using it here! It's simple, fast and the sampling feature is awesome. Looking forward to finally having access to legal music online. The music industry should have realized long ago (during the Napster debacle) that consumers want music in a digital format. Good on Apple for doing it right the first time!

Finally someone gets it right!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: Why hasn't someone done this before? Its so simple, its brilliant. I love that fact that I can pay 99 cents each for a couple of tracks, instead of having to buy the whole CD at $18. I went out and bought a Powerbook G4 just to use this service, and I have to say I LOVE IT - its worth every cent. I know a lot of Windows users like to bash Apple, but you have to admit they seem to be getting it right? You really should go to an Apple store and get a demo of iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie - simply brilliant and amazingly intuitive!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: If you have a frightfully busy schedule and have trouble finding the time to get to the record store, only to find that you can't remember any of the CDs you wanted to buy when you get there, only to find that the CD you bought only has one good song on it and you've spent $18.00 on a song - the Apple Music Store will be Nirvana. Easy browse, fast purchase and it has an unbelievably easy interface. Make yourself a cappucino, put on your headphones and go shopping.

Pros:

Cons:

Review: They opened the store with 200,000 songs, but more have been and will be added. Also, as more labels sign on the selection will get larger. No, it isn't perfect. All Around Ideal System

Pros:

Cons:

Review: Lacking some key songs and artists is a problem, but a lot of artists are idiots and don't realize that every song not on the iTMS is another song that someone will probably pirate instead. Quality is a 9 only because when I take my AACs to my home theater I can hear a slight difference, and considering how high end the system is, that's still very respectable (sure call me an Audiophile, why not).

Easy to use! But buggy with Dual Monitors!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: Love the quality music. I like that I can get good "quality" versions of the song the FIRST time dowload. No sifting through bad versions or wrong titles...etc like you can find on file sharing programs. Music selection pretty good, of course there is always room for more. I would like to see more Electronica...but there are some names I haven't heard much of (ie: Fischerspooner) that I was suprized to find so easy. Price is well worth it. Especially if you need albumns.. I use dual monitors on one of my macs and I get issues where the interface (buttons etc) dissapear from the itunes window..I have to quit and open again (already tried closing the window and opening just the window-doesn't work for me) All around this software rocks, the music selection could always get better, can't wait to see how it does on a windows machine!

Best compromise available.

Pros:

Cons:

Review: Easy to use, and consequently easy to spend your money! Browsing is the same as in iTunes, and one-click is true instant gratification. Songs work fine on the iPod, and quality is good enough for this listener who re-ripped all her CDs to 192 kbps MP3. The presence of ANY DRM is annoying, but has not so far had any impact on my ability to use my music, so *shrug*. Side note: iPods are awesome. If you're going to pay at all (and yes, the free services ARE stealing) then it's a decent price. I especially like that there's no subscription; I'm not losing money if my month's new music fix comes from a CD instead of this service. That said, the selection's gaps are often in the oddest and most unexpected places. There's still too much stuff I'd like to buy that it doesn't carry...yet. Let's hope today's meeting between Apple and the indies leads to filling out the catalog. And that the Big 5 will pony up the other tracks from all those "partial albums" now that they've seen the sales figures.

The future of music!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I've downloaded 5 albums and 24 singles. All downloads were flawless, easy to burn to CD, great sounding files. The offering keeps growing and I keep buying. If anything it is too easy, just one click and a few moments later the song is on your harddrive and your bank account is a little lighter. I would like to see expanded artist information and more indie music. I never liked the P2P networks and rarely found what I wanted at my local music store. Now, it's cheaper, easier and faster. Way to go Apple!

Excellent experience

Pros:

Cons:

Review: Most of the "thumbs down" comments I have read relate to two areas: 1. No windows version, and 2. you have pay for the music. As far as the no windows version goes, it's coming sooon so that's no reason for a negative review. Second, most software is made for Windows first, then Mac. Why shouldn't Apple make a Mac sofware first, then a windows later. Sure, 95% of the PC markets share is Windows, but that certainly didn't hurt the ability of Apple to sell 2 million songs in the first two weeks! Just imagine when the Windows version comes out! As for the second reason, I'm not even going to waste my time responding to it. I think responsible people know that you get what you pay for, and eventually you will pay for what you get. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I can feel good about downloading music for reasonable prices, instead of burning in hell for falling into temptation to steal through file sharing. It's easy to search for artists and songs. "Why bother.... because it's NOT STEALING!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: The Music store is like a drug. I find myself browsing through it til the wee hours of the morning. After the initial rush of everyone trying to use it, it works great now. In response to "Why bother", I guess we have a generation of people now that feel it is their "right" to own what they want for free. I guess us "uneducated" users can't see down the road, when artist will have to stop doing their craft because there's no way to make a living....

Easy to use and moral-building

Pros:

Cons:

Review: Finally there's a way to easily purchase music online. Instead of feeling bad about stealing music, now for a dollar you can have that song you hear on the radio that you love so much, or the song from that $120 boxed set that you simply wouldn't (and couldn't have, pocketbook-wise) legitimately purchased otherwise. A great service, works wonderful for me, especially in getting alternative versions of the same song. Just type in the song name and it'll give you all sorts of different performances sometimes.

Better than Napster

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I tried Napster in its prime. While many songs were there, the completeness and quality were guesswork, and download speeds were not good. ITMS is reliable, good sound quality, and a fairly good selection (although it needs to expand, and hopefully will). I've always used Macs at home and Windows at work, and this is one more reason why. (And Windows is coming for those who insist on it.)

Quality of iTMS beats Free

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I've been using this service since it's inception and I've been extremely happy with the experience. It's hard to imagine that it's good enough to beat free from Gnutella or Kazaa, but it does. No Ads, No waiting in line, 30 second previews, excellent sound quality, super fast downloads (about 30 seconds for a 5 MB song), Album art, iTunes integration, iPod integration, Songs are tagged properly, and good customer service. I think all this is a good deal for $.99. The only drawback is that not all the music I want is there, but I think over time this will change.

Napster-Killer App

Pros:

Cons:

Review: iTMS is, in a word, the first shot in elimination of internet music piracy -- not the "copy-protected" CD, not RIAA legistlation or lawsuits. 200,000 songs? That was on launch...Apple has been adding 15-20 new albums a week, including major releases each tuesday just like a brick-and-mortar music store. True, downloads take time on my dial-up connection, but are extremely reliable (I've downloaded 72 tracks, never irrevocably lost one). The only gripes I have are that while AAC is a great sounding format, I can still sometimes hear the difference with some types of music (especially classical - though it is much better than MP3 for sure). Perhaps that is why Apple has a limited Classical Music inventory. I would still buy CD's for music that really matters, but it's easy to make the choice to download the latest Staind album at $10 rather than pay $14 at the local superstore. The other gripe is that using the "browse" feature doesn't allow for much flexibility - the search feature is better. Now only if you could get the liner notes too...

A resonable online music service? It's about time!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: This service is easy to use and cost effective. If you must have that one song off a CD, this can be your answer. The unlimited burn feature is the clincher however, because Apple doesn't tell you how you can use the music you just paid for. I own 4 PCs and an ibook, and I have just found the killer app for my Mac.

Nice service... but...

Pros:

Cons:

Review: The Good: iTunes' intuitive GUI, guaranteed, successful downloads and simple billing make it the first truly workable digital music service. Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) sound quality is good -- a clear improvement over MP3. The Bad: Some users have reported sound quality problems with the built-in equalizer. iTunes prohibits direct conversion of "Protected" downloaded files to other audio formats. The Ugly: If iTunes supports the connected CD-R/RW drive, it will burn an audio CD from "Protected" files. This effectively overcomes the "Protected" file restrictions.

The bitrate of these files blows!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: The files are encoded at 128 bit AAC, which granted, is better than mp3 @ 128. But then again, so is wma. But it?s NOT CD quality. If you are an audiophile and are use to ripping your music in lossless format or higher bit rate (192-320 VBR), you will be sorely disappointed. Even worse, some of the music files (it?s rare but does happen) are poorly encoded. My point ? if you are paying for your music, you deserve to get lossless CD quality or transparent CD quality. Do not buy the marketing propaganda ? AAC@128 is not CD quality, just like WMA@64 is not! Demand apple to provide higher quality files.

Pros:

Cons:

I still will ahve to buy some albums, I wish metallica and the other artists were offered, but I will buy my music from the music store as long as it's available. I want to buy music, I don't want to be a thief. I want good quality too. But I only want the tracts that I want. Perfect mix. 1 dollar a song sounds good to me. Once apple makes iTunes for Windows, it will show all the PC users what they are missing with Apple products!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I can't believe how easy it was to setup an account and download music. I've now used it twice to one album and a total of 19 songs. I've officially bought more music than last year. $ .99 and $10 for an album actually makes it feasible to buy. if you have a Mac you should check it out.

Even with DRM, it's fantastic

Pros:

Cons:

Review: It would be great if there was no DRM in ITMS. It would be great if I could use the new music sharing feature in iTunes 4 to share ITMS music. But for the vast majority of legitimate uses for your music, Apple's FairPlay DRM really doesn't get in the way. I've already bought several albums. The system is pretty flawless. Now I hope the labels open up those "Partial Albums" and put all their music online.

Since when has Big Bad Bill issued anything *BUT* Windows first, then Mac maybe ?

Pros:

Cons:

Review: Finally Mac users have the privilege of having first dibs on the premier, safe, and honest buy-to-OWN music service on the web! With all the "tens of thousands" of Windows apps out there, what do PC users have to complain about? At least Steve promised an iTunes/Windows version with a time frame right from the get-go. Since when has Microsoft ever done that for the Mac ? Of course I'd like to see more classical and international artists offered (especially French and French Canadian artists). But iTunes is still a baby. I'm sure those options will come in time. Only more good things to come from what I can see.

Pros:

Cons:

Review: the itunes music store works practically perfectly. it has a decent selection of music which is growing rapidly, and it provides an affordable way to get single tracks LEGALLY. all of the competing services aren't nearly as user friendly, and anyone offering cheaper songs often has a nasty catch (such as 69c songs which require monthly subscriptions and limited burnable songs). apple has simply made online music purchasing easy.

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I have bought about 21 tunes from iTunes. The quality is excellent and syncs to my iPod like a dream. I marked features low because I'm accosiating it with the number of songs avaiable, not many foriegn artists. Support is an 8 because the built in support is waning, and quality is a 9 because if your HD crashes you lose your songs, then again how often does a Mac HD become unreadable?

A great way to buy music

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I just installed OSX and added an iPod to my suite of toys. The iTunes Music Store is a seamless way to shop and purchase music. Yeah, there's geekware out there to get it for free, but why? So you can rob an artist of his right to make a buck or two on his or her talent? iTunes is one of the best features of OSX and all my Windows friends can hardly wait to drop in to the store and buy stuff like I can. I particularly like the ability to search by song title and test drive different artist's arrangements before I decide which version I want to buy. Try to do that in a traditional music store.

Pros:

Cons:

Review: This is the first time I've ever been excited about internet-based music. If it's not previewing some badly streamed or encoded Real Player file, its renting music from somewhere that has the backing of maybe two labels at most; or what the hey! I could jump on the Kazaa bandwagon and subject myself to all manner of scams, fraud, personal intrusion (spyware), and maybe even the odd virus. iTMS may not be perfect, but it's the best out there for now, and will only get better. Um... and "what do the Linux guys think of this?" Most Linux guys I know, no matter how anti-Mac can't conceal their drooling when they get to actually sit down and give OSX a real shakedown. Let's em see what is capable of being built on top of their cousin OS, Unix. They especially like the Terminal and playing with all the code they learned along the way. So my guess is that all truly open minded "Linux guys" will appreciate the stability and ease of iTMS.

It's what I've always dreamed of having for my music collection. Probably the most important feature about the iTunes music store for me is the high quality AAC audio files. I'm really picky about having my tunes sounding crystal clear, and these AACs are flawless. I love it! Well done, Apple. It'll be cool to see iTunes for Windows and an even larger selection of artists as the iTunes music store grows in the future.

Review: be carefull, it's hightly addictive. Very, very easy to navigate, using the iTunes interface we're all familar with. Once you have your one-click account setup, it takes all of 15 seconds to buy AND download your song. I have ignored online music stores until now - who wants to pay money for a copy of a song you don't have 100% control of. With the iTunes Music Store, you get 95% control, which I'll live with :)

Unbelievable debut with more to come

Pros:

Cons:

Review: What an amazing store! The only improvement I would make would be more artists and a way to include user comments and rating (adapt 5 star rating system already used in iTunes). And with Apple adding new music every day, this program will soon be nearly perfect.

Makes music fun again!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: The iTunes Music Store is a simple, fun, and reasonably-priced way to get your music. Browsing the catalog is addictive, and you can't beat the instant gratification of a lightning-fast, high-quality download. Restrictions on the files are very reasonable, too. I love this service!

The direction the wind is blowing

Pros:

Cons:

Review: .99 cents per song, no subscription fee, free to burn CDs, no problems with that. Those who complain that they have to pay for music they download are the same kind of people who will walk into the music store and five finger discount a CD. So, I don't take their complaints seriously. This service is the best thing in music sales since the death of 8-track. With new music being added every week, it's only getting better and better. Windows users: I wish you had access to this service right now because you're really missing out on something good.

iTunes Music store is a brilliant beginning, just needs more songs.

Pros:

Cons:

Review: Having downloaded 243 songs since the service debuted on 4/28, I can say from experience that this is a winner. I have yet to have a single problem with a download. The song quality is fine for my purposes, listening on my laptop, plugging into the car stereo, or on my ipod. While the selection remains limited, it has stimulated purchase that I have meant to make and forgotten about, and with its reduced price compared to Sam Goody or Tower, I've purchased songs and albums that I have only looked at in the stores!! It also beats the peer to peer systems. It may not have every song, but you don't have to worry about truncated downloads, or downloads that take forever, or the bogus files that companies are starting to seed. It beats all the other pay services because it allows you to really own the song instead of "rent" it through a subscription. The only shortcoming is the need for more songs, and for a Windows version so I can also download at work, and I think they are hard at work on both of those.

Good first start

Pros:

Cons:

Review: This is a good first start from apple. Some of the future versions should include a better interface for browsing titles. The library will keep growing. The only negative thing - which has not been mentioned so far - is that this service is not available outside the US. When Apple makes it available outside, their sales will increase exponentially.
