"An Okay Update; Not Amazing."
2.5 starson by Steeler_1019Pros: - iTunes Store
- "Up Next" Feature
- New look
- iCloud IntegrationCons: Lack of Organization of TV Shows; Clumps entire series together, not able to view artwork for seasons
Unable to change artwork size of Music and TV show artwork
Plenty of noticeable bugs in drop down menus
Downgrading seems impossibleSummary: Overall, this update gave me a rather large, annoying and time consuming headache. I spent hours today trying to get my TV shows to be in separate seasons from the whole series, but to no avail. Even with the drop down feature, The artwork for each season doesn't appear. Only the first season's artwork will appear for me (i'm not sure if it's just me). I also tried to increase the size of the artwork for my music, and unfortunately, the same result occurred. Video Playlists for TV shows proved extremely difficult in correctly organizing with season artwork in view. I like the new look, but the lack of user customization and adjustability is very disappointing. After they took an extra month to "Get it Right", I honestly expected more from this software than what Apple delivered.
Also tried going back to Version 10.7... From what I've tried, It won't work, because iTunes 11 "upgrades" your library, and will only work on version 11.0 + from now on.
Expecting an upgrade in the future to at least FIX the bugs that are still noticeable... but I unfortunately don't see anything customizable coming back to iTunes anytime soon.

Continued . . .
(6)Go to your main Itunes folder and either delete or rename the "Itunes Library" that is from version 11 so that your Itunes doesn't try to use it as the library folder.
(7) Now doubleclick the file that says "Previous Itunes Libraries." The previous versions are named by their date. Move the one you want (probably 11-30-2012) into the same folder as the other, version 11, library, which should simply be the main Itunes folder.
(8) Rename the folder you just put there -- probably "11-30-2012" -- to "Itunes Library." Now version 10.7 can read your library, and it should be like you never downloaded version 11.
(10) Run your Itunes and make sure it worked. Done.
It's very simple to do, but you have to follow the steps. If my directions were at all confusing, there are many threads on Apple's message boards that tell you how to do this. Just googl -
I successfully downgraded back to 10.7 without losing my library. Here's how:
(1) Google "previous versions of Itunes." I'd tell you the website they're on, but I'm unsure of CNet's policies regarding promoting another website. Google it and it will be obvious.
(2) Download the most previous version before Itunes 11, which should be 10.7.
(3) Uninstall Itunes 11 from your control panel, or whatever folder your computer is setup for to uninstall software.
(4) Restart your computer. [This step might not be necessary for all users.]
(5) Go to your downloads folder and doubleclick the Itunes icon to install version 10.7. After installation, *do not* run Itunes. If you do run it, then you won't be able to see your library, so close Itunes if it opens, and we'll fix that issue so 10.7 can detect and read your library.
