Pros: PDF import, interface is bright and refreshing, the learning curve for upgraders will be short and there's even an interface for Word users. The file transition from WP11/12 to X3 was flawless.
Cons: The PDF import still needs some work, but it's a great first step. Long document (400+ pages) handling seems to be faster.
Summary: While the PDF import still needs some work, it's a great first shot for Corel at making PDF truly the "Portable Document Format." Don't expect miracles -- when you import complex PDF be prepared to edit (or my advice is to copy/paste and reformat). My expectation is that it will do a better job in later releases, but if you want to "re-purpose" something NOW from a PDF file, you'll be able to do it.
And that's just for starters.
As a long-time (since version 3.0) WordPerfect user, yes, I'm partial to it. But I use both Word AND WordPerfect, and the things that make WordPerfect a winner for its users, are still (or finally) there. Word will be playing catch-up.
Of course, your mileage may vary, as the caveat goes. Not everyone will like it, and for sure, not everyone will hate it! But imho, I think WP users of former versions will be pleasantly surprised, and the naysayers will follow their determination and find *something* wrong with it

Pros: Cheaper and easier to use than Office!
Cons: Presentations isn't nearly as good as Powerpoint.
Summary: I use Microsoft Office at work and Word Perfect at home (with a dash of Open Office on my second machine!) Most of what I do is word processing - give me Word Perfect any time. Easier to turn off auto features, easily accessible "make it fit". Office is so frustrating to use I commonly bring my work home to use Word Perfect! By the way, I'm a teacher; I have a computer on my desk at school and do LOTS of word processing!

Pros: Flexibility, user control, ease of use
Cons: Many small annoyances, mail client
Summary: I was a WordPerfect user at version 5.1 and made the transition to MS Office about version 97. It always p***** me off that I had to do things Office's way, or else fight it the entire time. Went back to WP at version 12. Glad to be back. I know the look I want and I can create it in WP. I can't do that in Word. I have to say, though, Excel is superior to Quatro Pro in ease of use and in producing the charts, etc. I want. And the mail client is just too primitive.

Pros: "Reveal codes". Need I say more? Okay here's more: Powerful
Cons: Converting to/from Word docs isn't (quite) perfect
Summary: I'm a happy user (and enthusiast)of the X3 and all its antecedents--not a technical evaluator of alternative products. However, my experience with MS Office is sufficient to keep me solidly in the Corel and WP camp and wondering why there are relatively few of us. I use the pdf function all the time and find it very, very, very infrequently wanting.

Pros: Great layout and usability
Cons: Crashes no patches ZERO help
Summary: I was really excited when this product became available. I decided to launch it for our department.
I liked the layout. I like the usability. The techs and the pop up ads from the trial software assured me it was Vista compliant.
It is not. There is no patch. Customer service refuses to give me a work around and worse refuse a refund.
Word Perfect runs on Vista, but mail, spreadsheet, and presentations crash.
It is really sad to see a poor Vista product launch from a company that was, at one time, all about the customer.
