"terrible accuracy and ease-of-use"
Pros: It is the only dictation system for the Mac.
Cons: I have used Dragon NaturallySpeaking since version 3, and , in comparison, MacSpeech is in the dark ages! Its accuracy, corrections system, and ease of use require considerable improvement.

"does not play nice with skype"
Pros: It does what it is supposed to...recognizes faster and just as accurately as I can type. This is a very good thing. I use an etymotic ety?com with it. works great.
Cons: It does not play nice with Skype and MacSpeech said they have no way to fix it.
