"Outstanding...replaced stock mail app immediately"
on by cpreacherPros Easy to use, inbox zero in seconds
Cons Gmail only (others are coming), slight learning curve for gestures
Summary I signed up for a reservation weeks before it went live on the store. Within a few hours of downloading the app, I was notified that my Mailbox was ready. This app is awesome. Once you get the hang of the gestures, it makes working with email way better.
I simply forwarded my Yahoo mail to my personal Gmail (already had a paid Yahoo account). My work email is on Gmail anyway. Now everything flows through this app perfectly. I use Postbox on my Mac. Since Postbox syncs so nice with Gmail, it stays up to date with what ever I do on my phone. I also shut down the mail app on my iPad and started using the Gmail app on that. Same effect there. All my mail is perfectly synced and handling it on my phone has never been easier!
The snooze feature is killer and allows you to get things off your plate that don't need to be there. But they're back on your plate when you need/want them to be.
I'm looking forward to an iPad and desktop version. My sync method works fine, but that would seal the deal. Great app and WORTH THE WAIT. -
"Not ready for prime time"
on by chuck-mccoyPros I really have grown to love the management aspects of the interface. Reluctantly I returned to the iOs Gmail app because of the cons listed below.
Cons The graphic display of my email content is totally unacceptable. It so bad that I can not read a good deal of my mail . - even if I display the mail in the 1x window to emulate the iPhone display on my iPad Mini.
Summary The text characters are far from crisp they look like they were typed on an old portable Smith Corona typewriter with a worn out ribbon. The images are slightly better but if they contain text, you simply can not read that text. I fail to see how even a iPhone user could put up with this low grade resolution. It is less than awful its close to useless. Secondly, they need to quickly add support for Gmail LABELS as well, including the ability to STAR an email.
In short I think the developers are far to busy adding new users to their customer base to pay much attention to making this app what it really needs to be. If they would make it fully graphically correct for all iOS devices, and add support for Gmail labels they would have the premier email app of them all. Sadly I deem this app UNUSABLE in its current form. I can't see how they could release this to the world with such a horrible display of message content! Its not prime time material and barely BETA release simply do to the graphics resolution. I would return to it in a heart beat if these issues were resolved. I am left with the impression the developers focused on increasing their number of users and haven't the resources to make their product fully functional.
