"Why does anyone need it?" on
Summary: I don't even own a copy. Office 97 would still meet most of my needs if I used it. I presenetly use OpenOffice.org 1.0.1. It does everything I require. What really gets me is that Cnet chooses this bloated cow as number 1 in their list of top ten software titles for 2002 even though less than 50% of users responding gave it a thumbs up. In fact, four of the top ten titles in the software category were Microsoft products. Makes you wonder how much monetary support Cnet receives from Microsoft. I wonder if they bother to look at the open source software arena at all and the revolution that's gaining more momentum every day.

"Amazing software package!" on
Summary: I have used it for hours and have not noticed any of the bugs many people complain about. I would suggest that most of the morons saying there are bugs have PC problems because they are morons and don't know what they are doing. Someone actually said you couldn't have internet explorer 5 or later...strange because THE OFFICE XP CD HAS IE 6 ON IT!!! Someone said it doesn't include Powerpoint....they are stupid to buy the small version of office anyway...some people are just stupid.

"Great Package" on by fexida
Pros: great interface, virtually bug-free compared to other Microsoft Applications, great recovery feature
Cons: sometimes takes time to load, somewhat expensive
Summary: Office XP is probably the only thing Microsoft has done right. It has almost everything I need: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook. This software package is easy to use and almost anyone can learn the basics in relatively little time. The interface is better than any other office suite I've used.
The only real problem is that it takes a while to load and it did cost about two hundred bucks to get. -
"good suite" on
Summary: Don't know the system well enough to make a lot comments, I haven't worked with the other versions of Office. I like this one, but seems some simple tasks are not even options. Help stinks.
