Pros Goes well with Vista, tons of features, can do anything with it
Cons Can't think of any
Summary The old Word releases (2000, 2003) had collected a lot of plaque over the years. Microsoft completely redid their Office and revamped it to dominate the market in Word Processing.
In fact, before 2007 came out, I was struggling so much with Word 2003 that I was about to make the switch to Google Docs & Spreadsheets just to avoid all the crappy features that Word 2003 had.
Word 2007 renewed my faith in Microsoft. Now I know they can do software right.
The Ribbon was just what I needed. Word 2007 doesn't necessarily has too many new features, per se. They just made the featueres they already had more usable. Word 2003 had so many of those annoying menus, you would have to be a pro to find all the features.
I'm glad I bought it because it goes so well with Vista. Combined with Vista, you can't get any better interface-wise than that.
Overall, great buy.
Pros Features; file format; interface; live previews; looks.
Summary Would love to know what CNET understands by "clutter".
I think it deserves a '9', but I give it a '10' to balance with the biased rates of usual Microsoft-haters or the ignorants who say OpenOffice does the same for free.
Pros Have not seen product
Cons Have not seen product
Summary What's the deal with all you people writing about your dislikes about the manufacturer instead of reviewing the actual product. All these stupid rants about how you love/hate MS or Apple don't help anyone. I came to see a review of a specific product and it pisses me off when I see these kinds of "reviews" which don't review anything!!! If you have not seen or used the product DON'T REVIEW IT.
Pros Not prepared to give one at this time.
Cons Not prepared to give one at this time.
Summary You state that there is "no free way to the Web with Word 2007." Sorry, you are wrong.
I can get it to the Web as a .doc or as a .pdf using FrontPage 2003.
Take a look:
I will try a version, when I can find one.
Pros none encountered since I couldn't even get to it
Cons can't even get to it.. a typical MS hassel...
Summary in the last line of CNet's review .. go to office.microsoft.com... first thing I noticed.. TRY it Online.. no need to download... they better try that link themselves as the first screen requires that you d/l a plugin.. then a survey then.. and then.. what a mess..
MS is living in the dark ages.. first with their so called NEW IE7 that is still behind the times trying to catchup to Firefox and for that matter Netscape..
can you imagine what a mess their new Vista OS will be... and how many PC's it will destroy will average folks trying to upgrade to it starting next January.. which will probably be no where near that time period...
