"What's all the fuss about"
on by michael_carroll123Pros Easy to install. Bit tricky to setup sometimes (e.g. home networks) but you get there in the end.
Cons In the latest versions - none that know of.
Summary There's a lot of talk about whether this works or not, probably because it was inferior before say 2009. But Symantec have addressed those issues. My internet is always on and I get attacks and pickup dodgy programs frequently - but Norton gets them all!.
But after reading some opinions I was tempted to change until I realised something. I asked my self these questions. (I have a standard PC by the way - not a high-power or games machine):
1. Have I ever had a loose (running) virus? Answer: No
2. Has Norton ever detected and removed a virus? Answer: Yes - Several times
3. Has Norton ever prevented attacks on my computer? Answer: Yes - frequently
4. Is my computer safe and secure? Answer: I'm certain of it.
5. Does it slow my computer: Answer: Don't even know it's there until it notifies me of something
6. Easy to install/upgrade and renew license? Answer: Almost transparent
7. Has it ever damaged my installation or setup? Answer: No - never.
So why on earth would I ever consider changing? -
"Good to use & I recommend it. No problem up to 1 year."
on by BhutanmenPros 1. My office computers have no updated Antivirus but I didn't have any problem for 1 year.
2. Easy to use,.
3. Good protection rate with intrusion prevention.
4.No bug for unnecessary repeated warning.Cons 1. Slight slow rate of start up. Otherwise it is OK.
Summary I am not familiar with high tech knowledge but as a customer I can recommend Norton Antivirus 2010 for purchase.
I also agree other user's views! I am also a loyal to Norton for 7 year but they force me to buy other products. I buy Kaspersky Internet Security 2010.
I use it for 1 year and now it is the time for renewal but it will cost for 38.99 $ at Symantec Website. My laptop is problem free for 1 year so I like to renewal but I feel it is expensive.
I buy KIS 2010 (1 year ) with Rupee 500 i.e. $ 11 from India but I still love Norton Antivirus 2010 & do not install KIS 2010 up to now.
Feel free to use this product! As a customer who use it for 1 year, I would like to recommend it.

Goodbye Symantec for completely shut down your software after expire. -
"If you get a virus....beware!!!"
on by thelangerPros None.....they simply don't care about the customer
Cons This is a big organization with no clue how to service a customer. When they can't fix it, they simply call you and say they have done all they can, contact a local vendor. WOW, and they call themselves an "EXPERT".
Summary Use any other software as they are horrible at servicing clients. All of the servicing comes from India and it is incredibly difficult to understand their service people.

"I'm not sure as to why the editor rated this 4 stars..."
on by mothechickPros Comes free with several computers.
Cons If you don't renew (and pay), it will totally check out and stop.
Summary When I downloaded i-mesh, it said it was safe, and yet it gave my computer a virus that was very hard to get off. This is the only experience I have had with any Norton products.
I cannot recommend any other antiviruses, because Norton is the only one I've ever used.
