"Thorough, but is VERY slow."
Pros: You can program scans for when you are not using your computer. Updates are downloaded automatically. New files are scanned automatically so you are always protected. You can scan specific files.
Cons: It is incredibly slow. Started a full scan of 320 GB HD 12 hours ago and it is still scanning! Granted, it is the first scan. Subsequent scans should be faster. Expensive- 50 bucks a year! Mac user since 1995 & I've never been exposed to a virus.
Summary: While I have never been exposed to a virus on the Mac, never say never. This software works in the background protecting your system from unwelcome viruses. You are likely to never get a virus on the Mac, but you never know and this software will give you peace of mind.
Updated on Oct 25, 2008There is no way to know how close the scan is toward completion. For example, right now the dialog box says that is scanning item number 6,755,635 out of 2,162,665!!!! It took forever to get up to the two millionth item, but now it's up to almost 7 million!! And there is no way to tell when it will be finished!! That is a pain.
