"Overrated, overpriced, purely cosmetic program."
Pros
It looks good--lots of fun colors. When it works, it duplicates the same functions as an iMac or Macbook but with bright colors.
Cons
No usable, precise wave patterns for editing. Spin Doctor remains unchanged and useless--but the price keeps changing.
Popcorn is no longer an incorporated included feature.
No timer for recording while away from computer.
Slow copying (very).

Roxio Toast is reviled by its users for good reason. Many to its claims prove wrong and nothing of them exceed the capabilities of an Apple computer without Toast. Still Toast keeps coming out with new editions and raising the price. (It's now about the same as an Apple TV--ridiculous.) It's main negative for me is the unusable, admittedly bright and colorful, wave patterns. Better if the program didn't have any (all in Spin Doctor). There's no way to snip out that 2 seconds of noise or unwanted music/speech. Also, there's no timer for recording FM etc. broadcasts when you're away from your computer. Also, the automation for recording sound from your computer soon destabilizes but not before it's slowed down your computer. I still need to use a patch cord between input and output to record computer sound. Last, NO SUPPORT. There website is Wizard of Oz imagery at its best (or worst). The company has no business making unsupported claims and upping the price; in fact, they don't have enough business to justify staying in business.
