  • "Artist radio broken."
    on by D1r3vv0lf

Pros It plays music if you muck with it enough.

Cons The best feature - "artist radio" is now broken and fails 95% of the time. It used to work great. Find your favorite artists, and create a radio station based on it, and it plays music you'll probably like. "Like" a song and it's added to list.

Summary The latest version breaks the only redeemable feature of this application, which is "Artist radio". The "track radio" feature seems to still work okay, but it will pick the craziest crap, probably based on some promotional funding rather than anything to do with the music you really like.

Cannot recommend this after the latest changes.

  • "An excellent way to find music and connect with friends"
    on by casst651

Pros Spotify has an easy to use interface that allows you to listen to specific artists, radio stations based on artisits, and make playlists. Spotify also connects with Facebook to allow the user to share what they are listening to on their profile.

Cons Spotify's library sometimes comes short when it comes to newer bands or albums. The program also has annoying ads which occur often and are sometimes louder than the song itself. If you pay monthly you won't have to deal with those dreadful ads.

Summary Spotify is an easy to use program which combines social networking and music. Unlike Pandora, Spotify allows you to not only make a radio station based on an artist, but also to search songs or musicians and make your own playlist. The program is free for basic use. If you can get over the advertisements, I highly recommend Spotify.

  • "technical mess, lax security, intrusive, see summary"
    on by houstontechie

Pros ok selection, not so great. multi language selection. nice sharing feature. not worth it even free though, see cons, see summary

Cons terrible technical backbone. my account was somehow "lost" my playlists gone, my entire spotify desktop was showing someone else name, friends actions, & playlists

spotify's "solution": delete since you signed up with facebook & recreate everythi

Summary also, windows desktop version as of january 2013 basically, has this annoying pop up behavior on certain spotify ads or ad changes in banners that takes over your screen regardless of what other application you are busy working on. VERY INTRUSIVE. spotify has known about it since at least 8 months ago and apparently is doing everything they can to fix it... must not be enough

all support is done via forums and contact forms and it is super slow and mostly totally useless. (they keep excusing, not answering or just keep blabing and repeating same old useless stuff)

your technical backend sucks. ***********. your customer support stinks. a contact form? really?! not even a live chat?

so cheap. so disgustingly unpleasant of a taste and experience in my mouth.

right now i have to worry if someone may have gotten access to my facebook account or worse yet my email account. and it would be only cuz of these fools.
