  • "Tragically Flawed - Will not stay as default keyboard."

    Pros: improved predictive behavior
good 'swipelike' action - if you like that sort of thing
    clever auto spacing feature

Cons: does not become default keyboard (a deal breaker)
    indolent customer service

Summary: Good to Great keyboard with a CRITICAL flaw.

The non trial version does not "stick" as the default keyboard. After any sort of reboot and at seemingly random other times as well, the keyboard on many devices, including my ATT Galaxy S3, defaults back to the stock one.

If you don't think this is exasperating, check out SwiftKey's own bug report forum. The folks who post there are breaking out the torches and pitchforks! All the SwiftKey staff does is shift the blame to Google. The problem, which dates from February of 2012, has, on a couple of occasions, even been declared as fixed. Such a torpid attitude to customer service is a real problem.

Hmmm. I use android version 4.1.1 on my razr maxx hd and have no problems with SwiftKey 4 non trial version staying default, though as you report many have had problems.
