"One the best sound cards money can buy."
Pros: Excellent audio fidelity. Support for DTS is a plus. Stable drivers
Cons: The X-Fi series may be a better buy.
Summary: Despite being released two years ago the Audigy 2ZS Platinum is still one of the best sound cards around. The audio fidelity is incredible and nearly distortion free at high volumes. Games sound more realistic thanks to the dedicated EMU10K2 DSP. Music and movies have to be heard to be believed: the results are more obvious when paired up with a 5.1 speaker system.
While some buyers have complained about the drivers I haven't experienced any problems with them at all. Under Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 the sound card is extremely stable.
Although the X-Fi series is now available this card remains a good buy. It is still available from many online resellers and would make a fine replacement for onboard audio solutions.
